Question of the week: What do I do in the darkness that needs to be brought into the light? Is it something that can stand the glare of truth or is it something that I need to stop doing?

In today’s Gospel, God demonstrates great love for us by sending his Son so that we may believe in Him. We demonstrate our great love for God by doing good works: reaching out to others, acting in justice and

charity. Through our almsgiving, you are performing a good work; far greater than you think. During the month of February, the Saint Cecilia Conference of St. Vincent de Paul provided $5343.00 in financial aid for rent, utilities, and travel to members of our community. Also $102.00 in FREE clothing and furniture was provided. Our gratitude is immeasurable. God bless you all.

he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”

St. Basil

“Education is the foundation of everything,” says Andrise, who’s been a first grade teacher at a small Catholic school for 11 years. It’s the same school she attended from first through sixth grade, in the community she calls home in northern Haiti. Catholic Relief Services, working with the Catholic Education Commission in Haiti, provides students with a new workbook to practice their reading and writing. This is a big change from when students had to copy notes from the board. “Now, all students are able to learn at the same time,” Andrise says. And she benefits too, from ongoing teacher training. Last year, the parish priest named her Teacher of the Year!

The Face of God by: Saint Teresa of Calcutta CD - $3.00 Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta is known throughout the world as a woman totally committed to the Gospel. In the first presentation, she explains the infinite value of God’s gift of life; in the second pres-entation, she emphasizes the Eucha-rist and our call to imitate Christ by loving each other unconditionally. KING’S CHALLENGE Every time you touch the Cross in Your Pocket medallion say, “Thank you, Jesus!” PRAYER PARTNERS

At the front and back entrances of the Church, you will find Prayer Partner Cards for our Faith Formation students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on May 23. Please take one and pray for the student listed on the back so they strengthen their life journey with God.

ATTENTION FAITH FORMATION PARENTS On Wednesday, March 14, at 6:00 p.m., Faith Formation classes

grades 2-12 should go directly to Church to participate in our Lenten Penance Service (Confession). Please have them sign-in in the Gathering Room. We invite you to attend with your children to celebrate God’s mercy and grace in the Sacrament. PLEASE DO NOT DROP YOUR CHILDREN OFF AT THE PARISH CENTER. THERE WILL BE NO FIRST GRADE CLASS.

LOVE BEGINS HERE Do you have friends or neighbors who need some physical help this summer? The week of June 11-15, a group of high school missionaries from our own Diocese are coming to Saint Cecilia to serve our community. We are looking for neighbors who might need help around the house (anyone can be served, not just from our parish). IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO MIGHT NEED HELP, CONTACT THE PARISH OFFICE OR DAVE KORDELL FOR AN APPLICATION.

COMMUNAL PENANCE

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14TH 6:00 PM

“Forgiveness is not something we can give ourselves. One asks forgiveness, one asks it of another person, and in confession, we ask forgiveness from Jesus. Forgiveness is not a result of our efforts, but is a gift. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit who showers us with mercy and grace that pours forth unceasingly from the open heart of Christ crucified and risen.” - Pope Francis
