~ ...... ; t 8 5 unp4.~ten ~e d lode claims: CU #1 thru #170, HHH #36,1137, #40 t hl~ u #46, Cop per Chick, Coppe r- Wedge, . and Plata Gopper Jackpot

·#1 and #2.

Southwestern Santa Cruz County, Arizona, three miles north of the Mexican Borde r , in po rt ions of Townships 22 and 23 South, Ranges 10 and 11 East.

The cl a im group lie s some 25 miles west of 1-19 and connects to it by the a ll wea the r Ruby-Arivaca roads. From these roads lesser roads and branch t r a il s le ad into the claim area.

The cla ims lie · in an area of considerable relief, with elevations ranging f rom 4200 f ee t to 5000 feet.

Al t hough the claims lie in the semi-arid southern portion of Arizona, t hei r elevat i on tempers the summer heat and desert conqitions. Rainfall is l ight but thunderstorms in the summer and light snow in the winter may occ.ur.

Sur f ac e ~nd g round water for mining operations is ava :llable on the property.

The area is generally underlain by a series of volcanics and sediments which have been intruded by quartz monzonite, rhyolite, andesite and other b~sic r ocks and quartz veins.

Struc t ures predominately a re f ault and shear zones. Some of the be s t mipe r a ll zat ion occurs along th e intersection of fault and shear zone s. W~d th o f mineralization ranges from a few inc~es to 100 feet or more. Minera l izati on may be hundreds of feet in length or may be lent ic ula r or oc c. u r a s pods.. The ma i n mineralization is gold, silver, copper, lead and z i nc. Other mi nerals obse r ved or recorded from the area are manganese, mo l ybdenum, tungston, bismuth , and uran i um.

The veins appear to be of mesothermal types and at the surface exhibit s e~ondary le aching and enrichment. Since this area is not too far from o t her porphyry coppe r deposits ~ it has been suggested that at depth a por phyry coppe r body may exist. Reportedly there has been some geophysical ind ica tion of t his interpretation.

Go ld assays r ange from a few parts per million up to a half ounce per ton and silver ranges up to an ounce per ton. Copper assays range up to 0.7 per cent:.

The cl aim group lies in a well mineralized area in which in the past many mi nes have ope rated primarily for the gold and silver content but al s o for other ba se meta ls. Numerous pits and prospects exist throughout the claim area a nd one deep shaft, more than 500 feet deep, is present along the western side of the claims group. The shaft has been inaccessible . to d.alc o

Additional . mining claims can be secured by the owner t o tie in with the Cobre Mountain claims. The total acreage would encompass about four sections of land Inde r this project.

The nearest citi e s are Tucson (65 miles) and Nogales(25 miles. )

The regional mining geology of the area consists of volcanic rocks as flows, dikes, and plugs of andestic t o rhylitic composition.

The claim group consists of prominent northwest trending rhyolite dikes, an andesi te porphyry, an d some diorite outcroppings. There are several srnall workings on the c laims which show notable evidence of ext ensive sulphide mineralization as well as conspicuou s copper oxides. The mineralization d oe s not appea r to be confined to the numerous o cc ur~nces o f vein stru c tures as e ri denc ~ of extf'ns i \' v d l S

S e ve r d l l d. r ~ e ve i n s of up to 100 ' width have been exposed. A vein of over 40' width can be plainly seen as one dr i ves onto the property. In addition, there are a nunlber of smaller veins a nd Iron Caplings or Chapeau De Fer w here the minera ls have concentrated.

The entire region is a vast plateau with elevations frorn about 4,200' to 5, OD D'. The tops of the mountains, including eobre Mountain, are perhaps 500' abov e the ir bas e.

A number o f minerals are associated with the ore fr om Cobre Mountain. A partial li st of the minerals assayed fo llows:

1. C opper 1-1 / 2% to 12 % 2. Zinc over 2% 3. Lead 4% 4. Cadmium over 1/ 2% 5. Indium over 1/2 ,7f{!

6. Gold 1 oz. per t url

7. Mol ybdenurn 1/2 oz. p er ton 8. Silver 16 oz. per ton.

Suitable for year-round mining at an elevation of 4,200 to 5,029'.

The claims can be reached by about fourteen mile s of roadway going Southeast from the town of Arivaca.

" : About three miles of this road is accessible by four wheel drive vehicles. A new ro .. ad, could be bulldozed ' to the claims that would shorten the drive by about five miles and lessen the g rade.
