The Annual USS Constellation Cup Regatta and Restoration Bull Roast has become a highlight of the event calendar in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor – named one of “2007’s Best 41 Sailing Events” by Scuttlebutt On-Line News:

Up to fifty participating sailboats take part in an exciting race out beyond the Francis Scott Key Bridge and back to a spectacular finish line at the approach to the Inner Harbor, where the 1854 sloop-of-war USS Constellation awaits!

The Restoration Bull Roast has become an institution in its own right with a reputation as one of the best post-regatta parties on the East Coast.

Historic Ships in Baltimore utilizes the five maritime treasures in our care – USS Constellation, USS Torsk, Lightship Chesapeake, USCGC Taney and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse – hosting school and youth groups to experience Hands on Encounters with History.

Many nonprofits and businesses have found that “peer-to-peer” communication -- emails sent by participants to their personal, social and professional networks, with their own messaging linking back to a personalized fundraising page – adds the credibility of a familiar voice to outreach into which the organization can still drop content and design:

Participants in the 2009 Constellation Cup will be encouraged to use our branded page at www.firstgiving.com/constellationcup to recruit their network of family, friends and colleagues as supporters.

Event sponsors will be recognized and thanked on all social media homepages and in online messages to donors from participants and Historic Ships in Baltimore.

If you or a colleague are the owner of a sailboat, you could also enter a corporate team in the event and be recognized as a participant. This presents a unique opportunity to fundraise for Historic Ships in Baltimore, build team spirit in your workplace and raise your corporate profile through grassroots communications sent by team members to their networks. Anyone can be a winner!

We want to partner with you to put on a great event and your customers want you to partner with us, too! The 2008 Cone, Inc. Cause Evolution Study found that

85% of Americans say they have a more positive image of a product or company when it supports a cause they care about.

79% say they would be likely to switch from one brand to another, when price and quality are about equal, if the other brand is associated with a good cause (compared to 66% in 1993)

38% percent have bought a product associated with a cause in the last 12 months (compared to 20% in 1993)
