Tel: (01503) 250767 · email: [email protected] Website: www.Resonance.org.uk W e are all intuitive, the question is: how to access that intuition and what form to give it? For over 16 years I have developed the art of Intuitive Storytelling. When I begin to tell a story, I see vivid scenes in my mind’s eye and hear clear cues from an inner voice, which together lead me step by step through the story. I never at any moment know what is coming next, and the stories flow best when I simply describe everything that is coming to me, no matter how nonsensical or outrageous. Those moments, when I am quite sure I am talking nonsense, usually turn out to be the most powerful, for in essence this work is the practice of getting out of the way, and allowing oneself to be a vehicle for something wider and deeper to express itself. I have always felt that storytelling should evoke the mysterious powers that move our lives, to bring alive what is most beautiful and most hidden in life. My website, Stories of the Journey Home, features a monthly podcast and contains over 70 of the best stories that I have told for adults. I also have a deep longing that children hear stories that are inspiring and em- powering, whisper- ing of the infinite potential that they are born with. Since becoming a father, I have told hundreds of stories at my children’s bedside, the very best of which I have put online at my website for children: Palace of Stories, which features a free monthly podcast and over 120 stories for children from ages four to twelve. You can also follow both sites on Face- book and Twitter. And for the last few years I have been teaching people how to begin this work of Intuitive Storytell- ing for themselves, in weekend work- shops and longer retreats. Everyone can extemporise, even my young children can create rambling stories on the spot. What I teach people is to begin to listen to their inner voice, and to notice the im- ages in their mind’s eye when they invite a story. I have been amazed to see people opening up to an inner relationship in this way. Yes, I believe creativity can be a conscious collaboration between ourselves and our inner wisdom. This requires what I call an emotional honesty, a compassionate allowing of what gets evoked in us when we put ourselves on the line creatively. When we approach our experience with an attitude of welcome and tenderness, we feel safe to open up to everything that is there, including the still, small voice of our intuition. In that stillness, that tender space of allowing, the stories can unfold. A recent workshop participant said of her experience: “The workshop with Leo was fantastic! I´m not an experienced storyteller, but I learned so many useful things at the workshop. I was amazed that I was able to tell stories that made sense, after just one day. I have also used these techniques in an intuitive music concert, and in my writing process, and they have worked great!” Marianne Jørgense, Singer, Norway. Leo will be leading a workshop in Intuitive Storytelling in Stroud, on February 9th and 10th.
