Confirming the Word by Signs Following

Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief

and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new

tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on

the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of

God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with

[RSV: by] signs following. Amen.

John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this

book:

31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye

might have life through his name.

Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by

miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in

prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Acts 4:29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may

30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child

Jesus.

13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

Acts 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the

miracles which he did.

7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken

with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

8 And there was great joy in that city.

9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the

people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of JesusChrist, they were baptized, both men and women.

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered,

beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the

baptism which John preached;

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, andhealing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Acts 13:49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised

persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.

52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

14:1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake,

that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace,

and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

Acts 20:6 And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in

five days; where we abode seven days.

7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto

them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul

was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.

11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till

break of day, so he departed.

12 And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

Romans 15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make

the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,

19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round

report that God is in you of a truth.

2 Corinthians 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is

Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

8 For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and

not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:9 That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.

10 For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech

contemptible.

2 Corinthians 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders,

and mighty deeds.

Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any

time we should let them slip.

recompence of reward;

3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and

was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy

Ghost, according to his own will?
