JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (Fixed Term Contract until end of October 2017)

Location: Old Police House, Hyde Park, with travel to all Royal Parks

Grade and Salary: Grade III (Executive), £32,750- £39,583

Relationships:Responsible to the Cycle Programme Manager.

Important Functional Relationships within TRP:

Senior Responsible Owner (Cycle Programme), Communications Team, Cycle Programme Team, Park Managers and Assistant Park Managers, Estates Team, Events Team, Ecology team, Head of Education and Community Engagement.

Important External Relationships

The role will be working with Transport for London, Local Authorities and Cycle Lobby groups along with a range of external partners, consultants, contractors, local authorities and other government departments and agencies, grant-bodies, volunteers and stakeholder groups, members of interest groups.

Main Purpose of the Job:

This role is designed to support the delivery of the Royal Parks cycle programme by working with TRP staff, three workstreams and external stakeholders. The programme is split into three workstreams - delivery, communications and behavioural change. The delivery workstream involves liaising with the TfL on the delivery of a multi-million pound programme of works to create the Cycle Superhighways, Central London Cycle Grid and Quietways programmes within the parks including the formal consultation and permissions processes. The Communications workstream supports by providing for internal updates, external press and media activities. The Behavioural change workstream is looking at softer interventions and activities across the parks to deal with some of the issues raised by cycling. This workstream looks at solutions, nudge theory, signage, events, campaigns, etc. as part of an engagement and education programme.

Main Duties/Responsibilities: To support the Programme Manager to deliver the projects within the

programme across all three workstreams. To monitor construction with the assistance of consultants (highway

engineers, landscape architects, arboricultural consultants etc.) Reporting regularly and highlighting issues appropriately in relation to time, quality and costs.

To provide an essential link between the projects/programme, contractors, TfL staff, communications team and stakeholders – through the three workstreams.

To manage reference groups, pop-up events or behavioural change initiatives. To liaise with stakeholders, deal with enquiries from members of the public,

contractors and others through meetings, correspondence, social media and telephone.

To undertake research and prepare project documentation and information for the website, press releases (background) and presentations to stakeholders.

To prepare data, design and survey information as directed for documentation and presentation materials.

To lead Equality Impact Assessment processes. To prepare project briefs and manage consultants/specialists. To prepare reports and to proof read documents as part of the quality

assurance procedures. To co-ordinate and disseminate information to others in The Royal Parks

including to senior management boards.
