WHO WE ARE

SPE is the largest individual-member organization serving manag-

ers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the

upstream sector of the oil and gas industry. We offer a unique op-

portunity to contribute to the profession through our programs

and activities and many of our accomplishments are driven by our

dedicated members.

Our Vision

SPE envisions to enable the global oil and gas E&P industry to

share technical knowledge needed to meet the world’s energy

needs in a safe and sustainable manner.

THE INAUGURAL CONFERENCE

The Conference Team is comprised of student members from the University

of Waterloo and the University of Toronto who are dedicated to contributing

to the continued success of the booming oil and gas Industry in Canada.

The Conference will be an annual event where students from Eastern Canada

can learn about the complexities, challenges and realities of the oil and gas

industry, build their networks and foster their passion.

The ECEC expects to attract over 150 students from universities across east-

ern Canada. In our first year of existence, we aim to provide a platform to

showcase all aspects of the industry and highlight the great impact it is hav-

ing on making Canada a global powerhouse.

Students will be exposed to keynote addresses, technical workshops lead by

industry experts, and a panel discussion with leaders of today’s energy indus-

try. After a full day of thought-provoking and inspiring presentations, the stu-

dents will have an opportunity to interact with industry professionals over a

networking dinner to further explore the topics presented during the day.
