Centrally located on the magnificent South Coast, Southampton has excellent road, rail and air links to the whole of the UK and Europe.

The M3 and M27 bring London within 1 hour by road and provide fast and easy access to the Midlands and the North. InterCity trains are direct from most parts of the country and Southampton International Airport is within 10 minutes drive of the University.

The University’s main Highfield campus is set in green and pleasantly landscaped surroundings, just ten minutes from the city centre.

The University of Southampton offers the most discerning conference organiser a host of versatile rooms.

With over 120 meeting rooms on our Highfield campus, we really can cater for every need. From informal meeting rooms for as few as 12 people, through to theatres that hold up to 425, there’s a room to suit every need.

Some of our rooms are also ideal for exhibitions, poster presentations and other displays and are fully supported by telephone points, power and data supply. All of our meeting rooms offer a professional standard of audio visual equipment.

Where internet access is required for your delegates, we are able to provide access at our many internet cafes across the site.

The University of Southampton achieved Fair-trade status in 2006 and remains committed to incorporating Fair Trade products in all aspects of its catering.

We are committed to using locally sourced produce wherever possible, ensuring local sustainability for the region’s businesses.

Our coffee and tea is 100% Fair Trade and Fair Trade confectionery and biscuits are available on request.

Catering with a conscience

Residents can choose to prepare for the day ahead with a cooked or continental breakfast, enjoy a hot or cold two-course buffet lunch, and also make the most of refreshments provided throughout the day. In the evening, we offer a choice of informal dinners or a full banquet.

Our Hospitality team offer several flexible menus with vegetarian and special diet options also available.

Our meals can be complemented by a drinks reception, carefully selected wines, a private late bar, and entertainment.

Time for you to relax…The University is renowned for its’ sporting and leisure facilities. The Sports Centre offers a wide selection of facilities including a 25 metre swimming pool, fitness centre and sports hall.

Easily accessible on campus, the facilities may be booked as part of a combined package or enjoyed by independent delegates.

A comfortable place to rest your head in a choice of standard or en-suite accommodation...

We can offer a choice of comfortable bedrooms on a Bed and Breakfast, Half Board or Full Board basis. All rooms are single with some rooms specifically adapted to suit the needs of delegates with disabilities. All guests have access to tea and coffee making facilities and internet access can also be arranged.

Car parking is provided on-site free of charge and we are located just 3/4 miles from the main railway station. Southampton is fortunate to be served by an excellent network of public transport.

All accommodation is within easy walking distance of the main Highfield Campus. Accommodation is available during Easter and Summer vacations.

The City of Southampton also offers a range of good quality overnight accommodation, from family-run guest houses to stylish hotels. Locations vary from the city centre to closer to the University campus and we would be pleased to provide further details.

Private gatherings can range from select dinners for friends to larger charity events and all are carried out with total professionalism and plenty of style.

Our experienced chefs have developed a carefully selected fine dining menu portfolio with seasonal variations throughout the year and use of local produce where possible. You can guarantee that we will prepare an excellent array of quality food.

We can also arrange table dressings such as flowers or balloons and would be more than happy to help you arrange a wide variety of after dinner entertainment ranging from a simple Disco and DJ to Jazz Bands, Tribute Artists, After Dinner Speaker or Table Magicians.

For those looking for a total package we can help you theme your events and have experience in hosting casino evenings, race nights, film nights and so on.

From a simple relaxed buffet to a sumptuous banquet, we can cater for all your requirements.
