Radio Usach, por unanimidad, fue distinguida con el Premio Alonso de Ercilla 2009, por dedicar su programación a la difusión de la ciencia, la cultura y artes, acercando el quehacer creativo a la comunidad. El Director de la Academia Chilena de la Lengua, Alfredo Matus, manifestó que era necesario valorar los 50 años de trabajo de Radio Usach como “un hito cronológico importante, de ser medio siglo con un compromiso firme con la cultura, y eso es digno de tenerlo en consideración por una academia”. El jurado responsable de otorgar la distinción, lo conformaron destacadas personalidades: Humberto Giannini, destacado filósofo y Premio Nacional de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales 1999; Adriana Valdés, reconocida crítica literaria; Eduardo Godoy, ex profesor de literatura de la Universidad de Chile y de la Universidad de Valparaíso; y José Luis Samaniego, Decano de la Facultad de Letras

de la Pontificia Universidad Católica, Secretario de la Academia y Presidente del jurado. “Son muy pocas la radioemisoras en este país que realmente están preocupadas de

la cultura, y Radio Usach, evidentemente lo hace con la música, pero también con la literatura. Ese es el reconocimiento que les estamos haciendo como Academia y fue aceptado por unanimidad”, comentó José Luis Samaniego. Por su parte, Margarita Pastene, Directora de Radio Universidad de Santiago, aseguró que “recibir un premio como éste de la Academia Chilena de la Lengua no puede sino ser el máximo reconocimiento que puede recibir un medio de comunicación como el nuestro. Un medio universitario al servicio de la cultura,

al servicio de nuestro idioma. Es para la propia Universidad un honor recibir este premio”. Margarita Pastene aludió además que, la empresa IPSOS, que realiza los estudios de audiencia, ha señalado que Radio Usach es una radioemisora única en el dial. El valioso reconocimiento de la Academia Chilena de la Lengua será entregado el próximo 21 de septiembre, justo en el día del trabajador radial. El Premio Alonso de Ercilla se instauró en 1990, y su primera distinción (póstuma) fue al gran editor Carlos George Nascimento. On some of the lists where I post my logs, hardly anyone ever replies, making me wonder if anyone is even reading them. 73, Glenn ** CUBA. 9545, Sept 6 at 2040 with cohetes at variable rates from the DentroCuban Jamming Command on a frequency which needs no jamming at this hour until República comes up at 2300; meanwhile wall of noise jamming on 9565 against Martí (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** ECUADOR [and non]. Bandscanning 49m at an unreasonably early hour here Sept 6, and despite hi noise level after getting Mérida on 6104.8 [see MEXICO], I looked for more, and found a signal on 6050 at 2045, also in Spanish, so has to be HCJB`s regional service roughly two hours before sunset there and four hours before sunset here. At 2053 a bit stronger with choral hymn, amen, 2055 Spanish talk. Hoped to get definite ID and/or characteristic automatic timesignal at 2100 but by then it had faded down and out. A fluky reception. BTW, a quirk of my FRG-7 (or all of them?) is that in the overlap within each MHz band between about 965 and 055 kHz, there is noticeably greater sensitivity by tuning up from below rather than down from above. Can this be evened out be realignment, and would one even want to? So for 6050 I had a choice of 5 MHz + 1050 kHz, or 6 MHz + 50 kHz. With the former I was getting a stronger signal measuring S9+5 at peak. Best 49m signals at this time were Habana on 6000 and 5965; also barely audible CFRX 6070 and WBOH 5920 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EQUATORIAL GUINEA. Tuned in 15190 at 2111 Sept 6 to find open carrier from Radio Africa. Not unusual for there to be VERY long periods of dead air from this station, so while my attention was focused elsewhere, left this turned up to find out just how long the dead air would last: until 2122, when with never an ID, abruptly started a preacher from North Carolina concerned about the last days and the return of Jesus; good modulation on this one, and he paused briefly to turn off an alarm beeper. So the dead air was at least 11 minutes. Are the Radio Africa operators dozing off, inebriated, stepping out for a smoke or some other important business, or just totally nonchalant about getting the paid-for evangelists on the air? What does pointlessly burning 50 kW for 11+ minutes cost in this poor country? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** GERMANY [non]. 11670, Arabic station with good signal, Sept 6 at 2033 with several mentions of ``Al-mania``, soon confirmed with DW jingle. Hmmm, that cognates with Alemania, the Spanish name for Germany, so did the Spaniards get it from the Arabs or vice versa, and why call it something completely unrelated to ``Deutschland`` or ``Germania``? Or is Ger a translation of Ale or v.v.? One might ask the same of the French. O, this is DW at 19-21, 250 kW, 100 degrees via Sines, PORTUGAL (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** MEXICO. Despite hi local noise level, I minimised it as best I could by closing down several known household noise sources, and boldly commenced to bandscan as low as 6 MHz at the early hour of 2043 UT Sept 6 = 2 hours and 11 minutes after local mean noon, closer to that than to sunset. Yay, bits of Spanish could be heard at a couple signal peaks on 6104.8, has to be XEQM, RASA Mérida. I did not stay on frequency constantly, but often checked in next semisesquihour, heard it no more altho could detect weak carrier when I quit at 2133. HCJB was also poking in around the same time; see ECUADOR; and also UNIDENTIFIED 9600 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** ROMANIA [and non]. 9765, Sept 6 at 2039 with roughly equal mix of Castilian and British talk, fast SAH between them of approx. 15 Hz. Looked up later, this clash is between Spain via Costa Rica site and Romania via Galbeni site, the former using 9765 for very long hours and the latter only during this semihour designated for Europe, altho exactly the same 300 degree heading as designated to NAm at same time on other frequencies; can RRI adjust the vertical takeoff angle to optimize for closer or further targets at the same azimuth? Substituting for the ``Available Time Slot`` show on WBCQ 7415, Sunday Sept 6 at 2104 was a repeat of Allan Weiner Worldwide, which he said was // 5110, but that referred to the Friday 2300 live airing. Later in hour, as reception was improving, he was advising pirates not to deliberately interfere with other services, a good idea (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [non]. YFR keeps shifting around different relay sites and frequencies, testing? 5930, weakly heard Sept 7 at 0053 with Harold Droning in English // 7360, both of which have adjacent interference from much stronger signals: 7365 DentroCuban Jamming Command and Radio Martí; 5935 WWCR and DGS. These are both via French Guiana (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 6110, open carrier as I tuned in at 2107 Sept 6, then off after a few sex. Likely VOA Greenville tuning up for Spanish service which does not start until 2300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. My 49m bandscan uncovering signals out of the noise level earlier than expected found TADIL-A beeping on 6130, greatly improved with BFO on, Sept 6 at 2107; 5 beeps and then a longer noise/data burst. However, one could also detect briefer noise/data bursts at the end of each short beep (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 7175 at 2101 Sept 6, sure sounded like DRM roar centered here, but there would not be any broadcaster now that it`s a hamband. But it could be Ethiopian jamming against Eritrea, which others have reported sounds a lot like DRM (or could even be DRM used for this nefarious purpose?). But it vanished at 2102 before I could monitor any further. Could also have been ham experimenting with DRM, or would that have been restricted to below 7100? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. A weak het on 9600 caught my ear Sept 6 at 2036, roughly one semikHz on the hi side, or more like 9600.4. That immediately brings visions of XEYU, Radio UNAM, Mexico City, which when last active a couple years ago was always slightly off-frequency on the low side. But we have no reason to believe it`s back on the air, since the engineer who was trying to keep it on SW moved to another job. What else might be off-frequency here? Not likely Kashgar with its rather new equipment, but which probably provided the other side of the het. Habana not on the air at this hour, for sure. There is really nothing else listed anywhere, so a faint hope remains for XEYU, with further chex called for (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ### ** ANGUILLA [and non]. Seems there is an extended outage at Caribbean Beacon. still absent from 11775, Sept 7 at 1344 check; nor on 6090 at 0013 Sept 8 allowing the Brazilian to be audible weakly (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CANADA [and non]. I was quite sure that was its range until I looked up the schedules and saw that TDP via Sackville was supposed to be on 9785-9790-9795. Did they make a change, mistake or did I? What about tomorrow? Fair on 13970 at 2325, monitoring at unusual time for me, on interior antenna because computer and outside antenna disconnected in deference to storms moving thru, as are all my Sept 7 logs between 2153 and 2416. Aoki indicates these OOB Sound of Hope frequencies and consequently Firedrake jamming could be on the air 24 hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA [and non]. DCJC cohetes against nothing: even UT Monday Sept 7 at 0550 on 6030 when there is supposed to be a weekly truce during Radio Martí`s silent period. However now the irregular noise bursts were blocking something weak in English, presumably CFVP Calgary. A few minutes later found same sounds on other frequencies in no need of jamming: at 0556 on 7365 and 7405, also silent Martí channels, at 0609 on 9565, another; at 0600 on 9955 against inaudible WRMI; at 0609 on 9545 vs absent Radio República. These all had the same sound of overlapping pulsing rather than a wall of noise when full-force jamming is running, so I wonder if this comes from one or two rogue jamming sites among the many all over Cuba, who just won`t stop no matter what?

Meanwhile, what was RHC doing? In English on 6010 at 0550, Arnie`s science talk about how the Isla de Juventud has no electrical grid connexion with the rest of Cuba so has to generate its own power and at greater expense. No other English found, as 6060 was off the air, while 6000, 6120 and 6140 were in Spanish. CRI relay on 9570, Sept 7 at 1352 had modulation audible only at peaking spikes, unlistenable: wiggle that patchcord! RHC, 17660, Sept 7 at 2157 in distorted Spanish about the same sound as // 11800, unlike VG signal and modulation on // 11770. Not only have no frequencies been carrying English at 2030-2130, but now not at 2300-2400 either: Sept 7 at 2323, the only scheduled English channel for that, 13790, is in Spanish // 13760 and 11690, music at the moment. 11760 is taking a break audiblizing something in Chinese, i.e. Mandarin, R. Free Asia via Tinian and/or ChiCom jamming. At 2334, 17705 hum and RHC in French obsession about Zelaya and Honduras; trouble is, per RHC`s own schedule, this semihour is supposed to be in Guaraní. YL with closing announcement at 1453 also claimed to be on 15325, but what does she know? REE has a 6-daily broadcast from 1500 on 15385, so perhaps they don`t

want to bother with changing the frequency in between. Have been trying to confirm whether IBB has finally got its act together not to interfere with itself when making the totally unnecessary site switch at 1430 in the middle of the 14-15 hour in English from VOA News Now. After pointing out repeatedly that Botswana was coming on before 1430 and Greenville going off after 1430, the latter finally started dropping carrier immediately (DCI) at 1430, as easily observed here previously. But Botswana usually inaudible anyway here unlike in African target area. On Sept 7, however, Greenville was relatively weak, and Bots relatively strong, so at 1428 I could hear them still starting up with the Yankee Doodle Dandy sign-on routine mixing with Today in History feature via Greenville. So Bots still hasn`t implemented instruxions from HQ to crash-start at 1430. So far had not been able to determine this due to poor reception, but Sept 7 at 1343 the answer is yes, this time emanating from the Spanish service on 11550, clashing with an innocent victim on 11540 but nothing audible on 11560 other than the spur when BFO is on. 11540 would be VOA in Cambodian via Sri Lanka. Previously it was the English service putting out the spurs, when it was on 11530. leapfrog mixing product from Bonaire matching the one on 6225, the 6195 NHK Spanish service saulting over 6165 RNW in Dutch, both of which go off at 0530. And then on 6135 is BBC Ascension in Hausa (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. It seems that Brother Scare is gone again from WWCR-2, 13845, where he had been appearing a few weeks in the local mornings instead of The so-called University Network. Sept 15 at 1243 there was PMS with VG Es-enhanced signal, MUF between that and still barely audible 15825 transmitter; by 1300, 13845 had also receded to JBA but still PMS // Anguilla 11775; and at 1607 recheck, 13845 with DGS. AFAIK, WWCR never entered The Overcomer Ministry usage of 13845 on their online schedule; maybe he was just filling time waiting for the payment from LA to clear? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 3385, another broadcast frequency marred by TADIL-A beeps and data bursts, Sept 15 at 0540; sounded like two of them mixing so the beeps were irregular. Could not really pin down a single carrier frequency, but somewhere around 3385 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 5898.0, big hum and open carrier at 0535 Sept 15. No doubt a Cuban spy numbers transmitter, instead of 5810 on this occasion (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 9540-9545-9550 DRM, again Sept 15 at 0517 and still at 0543, strong DRM signal when little else audible on 31m except REE Costa Rica analog 9630. This time with the DX-398 I can center the noise on 9545, rather than 9540 where I thought it was Sept 14 on the FRG-7. Still NO listing for this transmission at DRM DX, and no discussion I can find in their forums. But there is this on the DRM DX schedule: 0700-1000 daily 9545 30 Europe 90 BBC_DW G English Sines Portugal So are they turning this on two hours early? If anything from Europe could make it, Sines could, but still seems too strong compared to lack of analog signals from Europe. Maybe Bonaire, HCJB, Guiana French or Chile with secret test? Aha! ARGENTINA El Comité Federal de Radiodifusión entregó licencias para emisoras de Frecuencia Modula rechazando un total de dos solicitudes. La mayoría de los pliegos adjudicados pertenecen al interior de la República Argentina mientras que el resto fueron para licenciatarios de Buenos Aires. Durante el mes de junio el Comité Federal de Radiodifusión adjudico un total de 13 licencias para la instalación, funcionamiento y explotación de una estación de Radiodifusión Sonora. Diez de las FM pertenecen al interior del país mientras que las tres restantes son de la provincia de Buenos Aires. A su vez, el organismo publicó en el boletín oficial el rechazo de dos solicitudes. Tal es el caso de la solicitud presentada por Mercedes Ojeda para la instalación de una emisora FM, categoría E, en la localidad de Lehmann, provincia de Santa Fe. El otro rechazo corresponde a la solicitud de Marcelo Gregorio quien pidió autorización para la transferencia del permiso precario y provisorio correspondiente al servicio de radiodifusión sonora por modulación de frecuencia denominado “Maipú FM”. Listado de adjudicaciones El Comfer adjudicó una licencia para la instalación, funcionamiento y explotación de una estación de radiodifusión sonora por modulación de frecuencia categoría F, que operará en el canal 279, frecuencia 103.7 MHZ de la localidad de Lincoln, provincia de Buenos Aires. También otorgó una licencia a una FM que operará en el canal 296, frecuencia 107.1 MHZ, categoría E, ubicada en la localidad de Río Primero, provincia de Córdoba. Otra es para la instalación de una FM en el canal 229, frecuencia 93.7 MHZ, categoría E, de la localidad de CutralCo, Neuquén y para la FM 95.3 MHZ de la localidad de Dolores, provincia de Buenos Aires. El organismo también entregó licencias para la instalación y funcionamiento de una FM que operará en el canal 205, frecuencia 88.9 MHZ, de Concepción del Uruguay, Entre Ríos y para otra FM que funcionará en el canal 265, frecuencia 100.9 MHZ, en Santa Rosa, La Pampa. Además, adjudicó licencias para la FM 104.3, categoría E, que funcionará en el canal 282, ubicada en la localidad de Coronel Suarez, provincia de Buenos Aires; FM 98.3, categoría F, identificada con la señal distintiva “LRF84 7” de Trelew, Chubut; FM 89.7 de Miramar, provincia de Buenos Aires; FM 94.9, categoría E, que funcionará en el canal 235, bajo la distinción “LRP944”, de General Villegas, provincia de Buenos

También conforma el listado la FM 90.7 de la localidad de Esperanza, Misiones que operará en el canal 214 y que se distinguirá bajo la señal “LRH 944”; FM 104.9, categoría F que transmitirá desde el canal 285 y estará ubicada en la localidad de Los Ralos, provincia de Tucumán; la emisora 100.7 de San Rafael, Mendoza; FM 96.3, categoría E que transmitirá desde Coronel Moldes, provincia de Córdoba; FM 89.5, que operará en el canal 208 y transmitirá desde Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego. Finalmente se agrega la Asociación benéfica Cristiana promotora del Desarrollo Integral A.B.C Prodein de Miramar, Buenos Aires, la cual recibió una licencia de FM categoría E que funcionará en el canal 209, frecuencia 89.7 MHZ. PROVINCIA DE BUENOS AIRES FM La Posta, que transmite en el 96.5 del dial de Cuartel V puede sintonizarse en San Miguel, José C. Paz, Derqui y gran parte de Moreno. FM La Posta, que emitía su señal en un perímetro reducido de sus alrededores comenzó hace dos años un proceso de organización y fortalecimiento institucional y comunitario. El corolario fue la instalación de una nueva torre y potencia para alcanzar a mayor cantidad de vecinos y vecinas de la región en una superficie de aproximadamente 1300 km2. La radio forma parte del Plurimedio La Posta Regional y, en el último año ha encarado además, un aumento en la producción propia que se concretó en la realización de campañas y micros informativos para el Movimiento por la Carta Popular y demás organizaciones comunitarias.

A punto de cumplir 5 años, fecha en la que se realizará un Festival y encuentros formativos, la emisora apuesta fuertemente a su participación en FARCO a partir de la producción de noticias y el apoyo al ante proyecto de Ley de Servicios de Comunicación PROVINCIA DE CORDOBA Las emisoras del grupo Mitre arrancan la segunda mitad del año con varias novedades. La AM 810 y las FM 97.9, 102.9 y 104.1 verán su programación modificada; algunos cambios ya han comenzado a escucharse al aire. La noticia más importante es que nace Mía FM, la radio que ocupará la frecuencia de Mitre Buenos Aires (ésta ha dejado de escucharse en Córdoba y sólo está disponible en los paquetes digitales de cable y DirecTV o por la Web), que tendrá a Flavia Irós como principal figura y apuntará a un segmento de hombres y mujeres de nivel socioeconómico medio y medio alto, de 22 a 49 años. “Hace tres años dijimos que llegábamos a Córdoba para hacer radio y producir contenidos locales, y éste es un paso más en esa dirección”, aseguró Rubén Corda, gerente general de Mitre. Pero el nacimiento de Mía y la partida de Mitre Buenos Aires no será el único cambio, ya que harán dos “desconexiones” en Mitre Córdoba: la FM 97.9 no retransmite el ciento por ciento de la programación cordobesa, sino que corta el dúplex en la mañana. La primera transmisión será el 15 de agosto. En pocos días anunciarán cambios en la FM 100 (102.9), que mantendrá a sus estrellas –Roberto Pettinato y Lalo Mir–, pero incorporará nombres cordobeses. En la frecuencia de Mía FM, actualmente hay música, pero el 10 de agosto es el lanzamiento formal. Flavia Irós conducirá Flavia es mía de 9 a 13. De 6 a 9, Andrés Manzur hará Las canciones del buen día. Además, la radio tendrá segmentos

PRIMERA PARTE (remitida por Jose Miguel Romero Romero, desde España) http://www.amontoya.com/blog/?p=53 Las emisoras de números son emisoras de radio de onda corta de origen incierto. En general transmiten voces leyendo secuencias de números, palabras, o letras (a veces utilizando un alfabeto fonético). Las voces que se oyen en estas emisoras son muchas veces generadas mecánicamente, vienen en una gran variedad de idiomas, y normalmente son femeninas; aunque a veces se usan voces masculinas o infantiles. La evidencia apoya las suposiciones populares de que estas emisoras son canales de comunicación para enviar mensajes a espías. Esto no ha sido reconocido públicamente por ningún gobierno que pueda operar una emisora de números, aunque ha habido un caso de procesamiento público al espionaje de una emisora de números cubana por un tribunal estadounidense.[1] Las emisoras de números aparecen y desaparecen a lo largo del tiempo (aunque algunas siguen horarios regulares), y su actividad total ha aumentado ligeramente

desde principios de los años 1990. Este aumento sugiere que, como fenómenos relacionados con el espionaje, no fueron únicas a la guerra fría. Las características de estas emisoras son muy variadas. Algunas siguen horarios estrictos, mientras que otras emiten a momentos aparentemente aleatorios. Las voces pueden leer números, letras, palabras, tonadas, o código morse. La voz que lee la información puede ser automática o producida en el momento, de una persona joven o vieja, masculina o femenina. El uso de distintos idiomas para transmitir la información no necesariamente indica el origen del mensaje; espías franceses, por ejemplo, pueden ser hábiles con los numerales chinos, que se usan sin embargo para enviar un mensaje en francés. El uso de géneros musicales específicos puede también ser un intento de distraer a las personas de la idea de que estas emisoras tienen propósitos de espionaje. Alguien que oiga música extraña junto con una niña leyendo números podría, por ejemplo, tomar una tal transmisión por una niña jugando con el radio; sin embargo, el oyente experto notará que tales números son leídos de manera idéntica, como cuando se marca un número equivocado en el teléfono y una máquina anuncia que el número no ha sido reconocido. Supuestos orígenes y usos Según el Proyecto Conet,[2] se han reportado emisoras de números desde la Primera Guerra Mundial. De ser cierto, estas emisoras estarían entre las primeras existentes. Desde hace mucho se ha especulado, y en un caso acusado, que dichas emisoras funcionan como un método simple e infalible para que las agencias gubernamentales se comuniquen con sus agentes secretos. Según esta teoría, los mensajes vienen cifrados con una libreta de un solo uso, para prevenir cualquier posibilidad de descifrado por un enemigo. Como evidencia, estas emisoras han cambiado detalles de su programación o hecho transmisiones no programadas, coincidiendo con sucesos políticos extraordinarios, como el golpe de estado soviético de 1991.

Otros especulan que algunas de estas emisoras se usan para operaciones de narcotráfico. A diferencia de las gubernamentales, las emisoras de los narcotraficantes deberían tener menos potencia y no funcionar regularmente, para evitar ser localizadas por triangulación y atacadas posteriormente. Estas emisoras, sin embargo, han operado impunemente por décadas, por lo que se supone que sólo son operadas o patrocinadas por los distintos gobiernos. Por otro lado, las transmisiones en bandas internacionales de onda corta requieren de altos niveles de potencia eléctrica, inaccesibles para ranchos, granjas, o plantaciones de droga en regiones aisladas. Las señales de radio inferiores a 40 vatios pueden darle la vuelta al mundo en condiciones ideales de ruido de radiofrecuencia, clima, estación, manchas solares, una gran antena receptora, y un excelente receptor. Pero, hipotéticamente, los espías trabajarían con receptores manuales, a veces bajo presión, en cualquier estación y condiciones. Por tanto, sólo unos transmisores enormes, de hasta 500.000 vatios, pueden llegar hasta cualquier espía escondido en un sótano, en

casi cualquier lugar de la Tierra, casi todo el tiempo. Algunos gobiernos podrían no necesitar emisoras de números con transmisores tan potentes si sólo envían espías a países cercanos. Aunque ninguna entidad ha admitido jamás transmitir los números, un artículo de 1998 en el Daily Telegraph citó a un portavoz del Departamento de Industria y Comercio del Reino Unido (la entidad encargada de regular las transmisiones de radio en ese país) diciendo sobre dichas emisoras: “Éstas son lo que ustedes creen que son. La gente no debería desconcertarse por ellas. No son, digamos, para uso público”.[3] Escuchar emisoras de números en el Reino Unido ha sido declarado ilegal; sin embargo, es improbable que la ley relevante se use para juzgar a quienes las oyen privadamente. De hecho, se puede argüir que un oyente no podría ser juzgado por escuchar emisoras que oficialmente no existen y, en todo caso, funcionan ilegalmente en frecuencias que no les han sido asignadas por la Unión Internacional de Telecomunicaciones. Las emisoras de números reciben a veces, por parte de los entusiastas, apodos que reflejan algún elemento distintivo de ellas. Por ejemplo Lincolnshire Poacher, una de las más conocidas (supuestamente operada por el MI6 pues sus emisiones han sido rastreadas hasta la base RAF Akrotiri en Chipre), toca los primeros dos compases de la canción popular inglesa del mismo nombre antes de cada secuencia de números; Magnetic Fields reproduce esta pieza del francés Jean Michel Jarre antes y después de cada secuencia; la emisora Atención comienza sus transmisiones con esta exclamación. Aunque toma mucho tiempo y dinero localizar la fuente de una transmisión de radio de onda corta, errores en la emisora, triangulación, y un buen conocimiento de la propagación de las ondas de radio, han dado a los detectives aficionados pistas sobre la ubicación de algunas de ellas. Por ejemplo, la emisora Atención se supuso cubana cuando un error permitió que Radio Habana Cuba se oyera en la misma frecuencia. No está claro si la frecuencia de esta emisora y la de Atención hicieron interferencia o si el operador estaba oyendo radio y accidentalmente lo transmitió. En el 2000, Atención fue identificada oficialmente como cubana por los EEUU. La Policía ha ejecutado dos mega operativos. En las intervenciones se efectuaron descerraje de las estaciones que operan sin contar con la autorización. El Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones procedió con la incautación de los equipos y aparatos entre consolas, transmisores, amplificadores entre otros.

En Juliaca se ha logrado cerrar (06) medios de comunicación; entre ellos son; Radio Emisora “Fama”, Radio Emisora “Juliaca”, Radio Emisora “Continental”, Radio “Súper Star”, Canal de Televisión 37 “UNITEL”, Radio “Alegría”. Mientras que en Ilave los clausurados son: Radio “Armonía”, Radio “Qollasuyo” y Radio “Nueva FM”.Además, en las ciudad de Juli se intervino a tres emisoras: Radio “Fuego”, Radio “Sintonía” y Radio “Ayamara”; finalmente en la localidad de Yunguyo se intervino a similar cantidad de emisoras que operaban con la denominación de Radio y Televisión de la Municipalidad Provincial de Yunguyo.

via Yimber Gaviria, Noticias de la Radio COLABORACION DE HORACIO NIGRO Captando mensajes de radio con la lengua Lo que hoy en día resultaría un disparate no lo fue en los inicios de la radio, cuando el nuevo medio estaba abierto a la investigación de aplicaciones. ¿Alguna vez pusiste el alambre conectado a una pila en la lengua? Seguramente sí, cuando eras pequeño y ya estaban a tu alcance con algún juguete de control remoto. Y habrás sentido el peculiar gusto que dejó en la boca. Este era el método de probar si la pila seca tenía alguna carga remanente luego de su uso, y el efecto del “gusto” es producto de la acción electrolítica de la corriente eléctrica, a través de la humedad de la lengua. El Dr. Alfred Norton Goldsmith y Edward T. Dickey llegaron a experimentar con este sistema de recepción de las ondas de radio, usando el efecto del sabor que deja en la lengua la corriente eléctrica. Este sistema, sin embargo, no fue propuesto para un uso comercial, aunque se llegó a pensar en su momento que algún día pudiese ser útil o necesario donde la recepción sea hecha en un lugar con ruido. Las corrientes generadas por el receptor de radio son en este caso tan débiles que no tienen ningún efecto dañino en la lengua. Para resolver el problema, Los experimentadores usaron un amplificador con válvulas termoiónicas de vacío para entregar el valor de corriente justo para causar el efecto fisiológico buscado. Dos electrodos de plata montados en una pieza de goma dura son ubicados en la boca. Cuando ellos tocan la lengua, la corriente fluye y causan ese “retrogusto”. The members of the Cuban Federation of Radio Amateurs participate in our national emergency nets that are capable of providing communications links even under the most difficult circumstances, something that is very much appreciated by the Cuba Civil Defense System.

By the way this is going to be one or main topics to be discussed at our Seventh National Convention that will take place in Camaguey city, with the participation of more than 250 Cuban radio amateurs and about 50 guests from government agencies and the Civil Defense national command. I am Arnie Coro,radio amateur CO2KK,your friend in Havana, and here is our next news item of today's program.... Zero sunspots once again, with 200 days of this year 2009 registered as absolutely spotless, something that is having a very bad impact on high frequency short wave bands propagation conditions. This sounds like we may be heading for another Maunder Minimum, and it has surely caught solar researchers by surprise, because they didn't expect that solar cycle 23 would last so long !!! According to the opinions of several well known solar scientists, magnetic fields that generate sunspots just have proven to be extremely weak, as a a matter of fact they are showing a trend to become weaker and weaker during the past several years !!! The last long stretch of spotless days came just one day short of what happened during the summer of 2008, when cycle 23's record of 52 days without sunspots happened. Again, the total number of days of this year 2009 without a single sunspot seen has now added up to two hundred, equaling seventy nine percent 2009 that have gone by without sunspots. This is Radio Havana Cuba, the name of the program is Dxers Unlimited, and here is our next item: Early morning, pre-sunrise propagation conditions on the lower frequency bands continue to provide unique opportunities to pick up DX stations... The AM medium wave broadcast band is going through a period when the QRN, the QR Nancy or radio noise levels are much lower than during the rest of the day... It is quite evident here at our tropical latitude of 23 degrees North, that weather systems still belong to the summer season, so the high noise levels generated by static crashes from thunderstorms are still making reception of low frequency signals rather difficult. But , as said earlier, just before sunrise local time, the QRN generated by the atmospheric noise level goes down, because the number of thunderstorms at that time of the day is lower than at any other period. Pre-sunrise propagation conditions also provide much better propagation to the West and Northwest of your location, a fact that must be taken into account . Although North-South and South-North propagation paths do open up also during the pre-sunrise period, it is quite clear that signals coming from due West or from the North West are several dB's better . Monday evening I tried my new T type antenna on 160 meters, having to battle with big static crashes from not too distant thunderstorms, nevertheless I was able to make several nice two-way contacts using single side band voice , and one CW Morse code radiotelegraphy QSO.

As we enter more and more into the autumn equinoctial DX season, propagation conditions on frequencies between 500 kiloHertz and eight megaHertz will improve , making possible for radio amateurs to enjoy a short period of much better DX possibilities !!! ............................ At the request of several listeners , I am going to give a short glance at the ultra weak signal digital mode, that is known by its acronym ... WSPR, but that amateur radio operators using it are renaming as WHISPER. Again this is a digital radio communications program that ranks as one of the most remarkable contributions to amateur radio software in recent times.... it is certainly a nice interesting example of how well written computer code is able to optimize the use of computers processing power in order to boost the reception of extremely weak signals. WHISPER , or WSPR is another good example of the ULTRA NARROWBAND digital modes that are opening a totally different scenario to weak signal communications. I am talking here about the very small bandwidth digital modes, that use just a few cycles of radio frequency spectrum WSPR, the WHISPER, makes possible to operate with very low transmitter power output and still obtain good results !!! Although the most popular and most used today easy to learn digital communications mode preferred by hams worldwide is PSK31, this keyboard to keyboard mode can be used even with older computers,.PSK31is also pretty easy to set up, and one can become quite familiar with the PSK31 mode operating procedures in just a few hours. Now amigos, here is now our next radio hobby related item for your enjoyment. Homebrewing of simple easy to build solid state radio receivers is a very rewarding experience .... Yes amigos. Even the most simple radio, built around a tuned circuit, plus a crystal diode and a one transistor audio amplifier can provide excellent performance when properly designed and built. Just recently I tried out an AM broadcast band receiver circuit that uses a minimum of electronic components, while still providing excellent selectivity , that is the ability of the radio to separate between stations. The secret of this very simple receiver lies in the use of a very well designed input tuned circuit... It uses a large diameter , high Q coil and an air spaced 365 picoFarads variable capacitor. The high Q coil is coupled to a second matching coil that is designed to optimize the match between the antenna and the radio. I wound the big coil on a three inch or 75 millimeters diameter length of PVC white pipe. The wire used is number 18 enamel insulated , and the coil has 70 turns, with taps from the bottom up every 10 turns. By using a hand picked germanium crystal diode, the radio's sensitivity is much higher that what is normally achieved on this simple circuit when one uses any diode that is available without running into the trouble of measuring the diode's forward conduction voltage, in order to be able to select the one with the lowest value. In order to provide the maximum possible amplification that can be achieved from the single stage audio amplifier, I measured the amplification provided by no less than fifteen transistors of the same type, and then using the one with the highest gain and lower internal noise. This little radio was built as part of a training program at our Amateur Radio Academy that is made available to persons interested in becoming radio amateur operators. The little radio uses a matching output transformer, so that the easy to find low impedance headphones can be used. This transformer matches the transistor's collector impedance to 16 ohms, so power transformer to the headphones is very good. Parts count was intentionally kept to a minimum and the radio is battery powered . In actual practice it works quite well with just 3 volts DC coming from a pair of

series connected AA type cells, but audio output is much higher when it is fed with 9 or 12 volts. Tests using a 9 volts battery were very rewarding, as I was able to pick our own Radio Havana Cuba's six thousand one hundred and forty kiloHertz 49 meters band frequency using a wire antenna that is about 10 meters or a bit less than 35 feet long.
