What is ComRAD© (Computerized Recovery Advisor)?
ComRAD is…
an Intelligent Information and Expert (Designing) System© in field of Health Care,
based on…
the universal methodology of computerized system analysis and design (MCAD)©
developed as part of…
the nation wide intelligent information & expert system (II&ES)©

What is UKB according to MCAD?
What is different in II&ES UKB?
It is not a specific architecture for each applied knowledge domain, -
it is unified
It is not a regular architecture, -
it reflects the universal algorithm of “design”
It is not a library of articles, -
it is ontology consisting of standard modules of information
It is a specific architecture for all kind of knowledge domains – it is actually an universal KB

Knowledge Base – KB
KB includes scientific knowledge about human body systems, environment, treatment recourses, safety and other standards, office management, system development and costs of treatment.
What is ComRAD KB?
Why is ComRAD KB different?
Consist only scientifically approved information computerized system analysis intended to create a unified knowledge base with specific ontology based on MCAD©
Computerized system analysis also allows to reveal gaps in knowledge and determine areas for future study

ComRAD
What is ComRAD ODB could be:
The ComRAD ODB can be used as a source for Data Warehouse (DW).
Accumulating aggregated information in DW will allow system to perform statistical analysis on the different levels of complexity.
That is cluster analysis, regression analysis and so on could be implemented to produce true statistical picture of the decease / treatment results.
Slide 13Prepared by: <DISK Co. > - Confidential Information Not for Redistribution
ComRAD
What is II&ES CoSMoS© is?
utilizes algorithms of the method of computerized systems analysis in creation of UKB ontology
utilizes designing algorithms (by the intersystem's interfaces)
generation of users portals (standard form-documents)
generation of suboptimal variants of design
CoSMoS is a managing and design software complex, which provides the following:

ComRAD
What is different in CoSMoS?
IT IS NOT A SOFTWARE FOR THE SYSTEMS INTEROPERABILITY BY THE NETWORK, - BUT BY THE INTRASYSTEM COMMUNICATION BETWEEN KB, ODB, MEDICAL SPECIALISTS, PHARMASY AND LABORATORIES, HOSPITALS SOFTWARE
IT IS NOT A SOFTWARE THAT REALIZED ONLY SEARCH ALGORITHMS, - BUT
ALGORITHMS OF CREATION KB ONTOLOGY USING SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND
ALGORITHMS OF OPTIMAL DESIGN
IT IS NOT A SPECIAL SOFTWARE FOR EACH APPLIED SYSTEM, BUT UNIFIED
FOR ALL OF THEM

What makes ComRAD different?
What its NOT..
It is not just a network between medical specialists, it is interoperability between medical records and scientific knowledge
It is not a forum for discussion of medical issues, but could be one
It is not an educational course, but could be one
What it IS…
An intelligent information & expert system that also is a part of nation-wide info-environment©
The basic principle of ComRAD: “to normalize the patient’s body systems functioning in whole, not only to treat a specific disease by its name”
The decision making will be done by a medical doctor based on several sub-optimal variants designed by the ComRAD

Diagnosis
ComRAD will generate for medical specialists necessary information (factors) that must be taken into account in the diagnostic and treatment process
Medical specialists will have access to the relevant information about the particular patient’s EMR in the ComRAD ODB
Access rules will protect the patient’s information from unauthorized access
Only family physician will have access to information on the distinct patient in whole from the CoSMoS ODB
The updated information on the patient’s health examination will be available in the ODB/EMR during the visit
Slide 29Prepared by: <DISK Co. > - Confidential Information Not for Redistribution
ComRAD
Treatment
ComRAD will design several sub-optimal variants of treatment for the distinct patient by taking into account all factors, their relations and current characteristics a patient’s health state
Each variant will contain the whole set of resources, such as medications, diet, exercises, life style, etc., which will be defined to optimize treatment, minimize side effects and treatment expenses
General Practitioner might select the most appropriate treatment option and monitor treatment dynamics
ComRAD will provide information to the medical scientists for further research and development corrections of existing recommendations
