BREEAM (Building Research Establishment’s EnvironmentalAssessment Method) is the world’s foremost environmentalassessment method and rating system for buildings, with250,000 buildings with certified BREEAM assessment ratingsand over a million registered for assessment since it was firstlaunched in 1990. The system sets the standard for best practicein sustainable building design, construction and operation.

BREEAM credits

A BREEAM assessment uses recognised measures of performance,set against established benchmarks, to evaluate a building’sspecification, design, construction and use.

Credits are awarded across ten categories based on the outcomesof the building assessed. The credits are then combined to providea single score, achieving either a Pass, Good, Very Good, Excellentor Outstanding overall BREEAM rating.

OverviewFour systems are available, SPW300 medium thermalperformance, SPW400 sliding folding door system, SPW600/ehigh/enhanced thermal performance, and Hybrid a highperformance timber/aluminium solution.

Products that look and perform well are essential. Senior door systems are constructed using environmentally friendlyaluminium and, depending on the system selected, canincorporate glazing ranging from a 4mm single pane to 56mmdouble glazed units. By varying the glazing specification andsystem/profile selection, high insulation and specific overall U-values can be achieved.

Also available are the SD and SPW500 door options, suitablefor high usage applications where a heavy duty solution isdesirable and with options for thermal and non-thermalperformance as required.

FlexibilitySenior entrance door systems are compatible with Senior SCW,SCW+, SMR800, SMR900 and the Hybrid range of curtain wallsystems. They are available in single or dual colour finish.Dependent on the range specified, Senior entrance doorsystems are available with single, double, inward and outwardopening options.

A full range of door hardware is available, including butt hinges,letter plate and multi-point locking for added security, includingsolutions to meet SBD (Secured by Design) criteria.

Campsmount Technology College was the pilot project for Wates Construction’sinnovative Adapt Schools Solutions designapproach. Following a fire in 2009, the7500m2 replacement new build cost £10.7 million and was designed with flexible learning in mind.
