FACTORY PROFILE

Factory Building SMH New Generation Apparels is an award winning compliant knitwear manufacturer based in Bangladesh and is a project of SMH Group. The company was set up in 2005 to provide one stop manufacturing service to the fashion industry ensuring quality, reliability, sustainability and social responsibility. The group’s founder is Syed Moazzam Hossain who is a prominent business man in the country known for his ethical practices. SMH Group is one of the earliest and established companies in Bangladesh operating since 1987. The industry has an yearly production capacity of 125000 dozens (1.5 million pieces) of knitwear in 3, 5, 7 & 12 gauges. The factory is well equipped with latest knitting technology. Detailed list of the machines are shown in the following pages. The factory is located in Gazipur which is 20 kilometers from Dhaka International Airport. The main products of the company are all kinds of knitwear and sweaters like pullover, cardigan, vests etc. in all sizes for men, women and children. The plant has been designed as per the requirement of global fashion buyers. SMH follows all labor and safety laws of the country. The company has a strict policy on working conditions, which the management monitors to maintain high standards. In addition to SEDEX & BSCI audit, the factory has passed audits by New Look, Debenhams, Li & Fung and many others. SMH’s greatest achievement was to win a national award for being the 'Best Labor Friendly Sweater Industry’ from the Government of Bangladesh in 2008. In 2015 SMH Group opened a marketing branch in UK for easy correspondence with global companies. The UK branch can work with deferred payment terms (subject to UK credit check). SMH is open to any offers including long term contracts, factory lease, partnership programs etc. Other concerns of the group include business in local infrastructure projects, IT outsourcing, power sector, meter assembly plant, agro industry, joint ventures & international tenders.
