The feed water is composed of makeup water (usually city water from outside
boiler room/ process) and condensate (condensed steam returning to the
boiler).
The feed water normally contains impurities, which can cause deposits and
other related problems inside the boiler. Common impurities in water include
alkalinity, silica, iron, dissolved oxygen and calcium and magnesium
(hardness).
Blow down, a periodic or continuous water removal process, is used to limit
the concentration of impurities in boiler water and to control the buildup of
dissolved solid levels in the boiler. Blow down is essential in addition to
chemical treatments.

results, 40 to 60 ppm of this product should be maintained in the boiler.

CHEMCON –270
OXYGEN SCAVENGER FOR BOILER WATER
TREATMENT
CHEMCON-270 is used to remove the last traces of dissolved oxygen from boiler feed
water. It is a liquid formulation of catalyzed sodium sulphite.
It reacts with oxygen to produce sodium sulphates. The reaction is as below….

DESCALING CHEMICALS
Purpose of chemical cleaning: The primary reasons for chemical cleaning of boilers/ heat exchangers are to prevent tube
failures & improve unit availability. Tube failures in low pressure boilers/heat exchangers
are normally the results of creep which occurs when internal deposits produce excessive
metal temperature. A relatively smaller quantity of deposit creates difficulties in high
pressure boilers. Caustic corrosion & hydrogen damage, which occur only in the presence
of deposits, may cause tube failures at temperatures well below the creep limit. Deposits
originating both from fabrication & during operation should be considered potential
problems.

All the pressure parts of steam generator may be subjected to heat treatment of some sort
during fabrication or erection – during forming operations, stress relief, welding or
bending. Whenever carbon low alloy steels are subjected to high temperatures in the
presence of air, oxidation occurs, the oxide produced is known as mill scale. Mill scale on
boiler/ heat exchanger tubing is normally very thin with the exception of areas near welds
& bends. Even where mill scale is initially uniform its brittleness upon cooling may
produce flaking. The resulting non-uniform surface is undesirable from the standpoint of
corrosion susceptibility. During operation mill scale is rapidly eroded from the steam
generating surfaces & may subsequently be re-deposited in critical areas. Preoperational
acid cleaning removes mill scale & serves to remove atmospheric rust which inevitably
accumulates to some degree during erection.
After a boiler / heat exchanger placed into service, numerous solid constituents may enter
the units with the feed water & some portion of the insolubles can be expected to deposit
on surfaces. If not removed these deposits accumulated over a period of time can
minimize the quantity of these materials; however, complete freedom from deposition is
not possible in a high pressure system. The need for occasional chemical cleaning during
the life of the equipment has become a recognized fact & should be accepted as a routine
maintenance practice. A frequency of service cleaning of every 3 to 4 months is
recommended. This frequency should be increased if individual unit operating history
dictates.
DESCALING CHEMICAL
CHEMCON-1100 is designed to remove the scaling& corrosion products from boiler&
cooling water circuits, heat changers etc. It is a liquid formulation to remove hardness &
low concentrated silica scales that can be removed offline by circulating its dilute
solution of the chemical. It is a balance formulation of Hydrochloric Acid, Dispersant
Wetting Agents & Corrosion Inhibitor
CHEMCON –1100 DESCALING CHEMICAL
CHEMCON-1100 is designed to remove the scaling& corrosion products from boiler&
cooling water circuits, heat changers etc. It is a liquid formulation to remove hardness &
low concentrated silica scales that can be removed offline by circulating its dilute
solution of the chemical. It is a balance formulation of Hydrochloric Acid, Dispersant
Wetting Agents & Corrosion Inhibitor.

CHEMCON- 1100 should be dosed in 5-10 % solution in water. Warm water may be used
for faster action. Normally the quantity of scale required depends upon the operating

SUPER HEATER
One of the most important accessories of a boiler is a super heater. Steam will leave the
water at its surface and pass into the steam space. Steam formed above the water surface
is always saturated and cannot become superheated in the boiler shell, as it is constantly
In contact with the water surface. If superheated steam is required, the saturated steam
must pass through a super heater. This is simply a heat exchanger where additional heat is
added to the saturated steam. The super heater increases the capacity of the plant,
eliminates erosion & reduces steam consumption of the steam turbine.

"We do renovation of Shell and Tube heat exchangers such as repair of Steam

In our workshop we renovate tube and shell heat exchanger with new tube elements
and/or shell, the heat exchanger will be fitted with new insulation if necessary. Complete
re-tubing of tube bundles, are also offered. Our preference is to re-tube/refurbish in our

Principle of Reverse Osmosis Reverse Osmosis system uses semi-permeable spiral wound membrane to separate and

from water. Feed water is delivered under high pressure through permeators, where water
permeates through the minute pores of the membrane and is delivered as purified product

DEMINERALIZATION PLANT
Ion exchange technology is used to remove salts (cations and anions) from the water
Soluble chemical compounds, when dissolved in water, become ionized; that is their
molecules dissociate into positively and negatively charged components called ions.
Consider common table salt, sodium chloride. In its solid form, this compound consists of
one sodium atom (Na) and one chlorine atom (Cl) tightly coupled together (NaCl). When
dissolved in water, however, the compound splits into two ions, Na and Cl.
ION EXCHANGE
a process in which Contaminant ions are exchanged from water is called ion exchange.
This process occurs in ion exchange resin initially, resin is loaded with hydrogen (H) ion
for cations and hydroxide (OH-) ion for anions. As water passes through the resin, the
contaminant ions in the water displace the loaded ions from the sites on the resin. This is
because the resin has a greater affinity for the contaminant ions. Affinity for most resins
is based loosely on ionic size and charge
REGENERATION
Over a period of time most of the cation resin gets converted into Ca, Mg, Na form and it
has no Hydrogen Ions (H ) to replace Ca, Mg, Na ions and the anion resin gets converted
into Cl, SO4, SiO2 form and it has no Hydroxyl Ions (OH-) to replace Cl, SO4, SiO2
ions.. This is called the resin exhaustion or end of service cycle. The exhausted resin has
to be brought back into Hydrogen (H) Hydroxyl (OH-) form to continue the process and
use it again and again.
The procedure of converting exhausted resin into Hydrogen (H) Hydroxyl (OH-) form is
called regeneration
SEPARATE BED DM SYSTEMS
Ion exchange occurs across at least two different columns. The first is a cation column,
which is filled with resin loaded with positive hydrogen ions (H). As water passes
through this column, the positively charged impurities in the water are exchanged for
the hydrogen ions
a similar exchange takes place in the second column, the anion column. This column is
filled with resin loaded with negative hydroxide ions (OH-). As the now cation-free
water from the cation column passes through, any negatively charged contaminants are
removed from the water and replaced by hydroxide ions from the resin. The water now
has a neutral pH. Hydroxide [OH-] and hydrogen [H] ions exchanged in the columns
combine, forming water [H2O)
MIXED BED PLANT
Mixed bed demineralizer plant embodies a single column unit in which strong cation &
strong anion resins are intimately mixed together. Water passing through the column
comes repeatedly in contact with these resins and is thus in effect subjected
almost infinite number of demineralizing stages. Demineral water of extreme purity is
produced - Purity that can not be produced by any other commercial method.
Mixed bed resins are regenerated with acid and alkali but the ion exchange resin must be
separated before this can be done.

Feed water Quality
Raw water or feed water to Mix bed must be free from turbidity & organic matter, Heavy
metals, free chlorine and oil. The minimum inlet pressure required is 2 kg /cm2. If raw
water is being directly fed as feed water to mixed bed then the raw water TDS should not
be more than 50 ppm.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS
Activated carbon filters are used for removing free chlorine, phenol, taste and odour as
well as reduction COD/ BOD. The specially designed filters are made from FRP closed
vessel fitted with multi port valves and are operated under pressure. The water is passed
through the under bed media & granular activated carbon layer. These filters have a back
flushing arrangement, which easily flushes away the deposited impurity at carbon
granules.
Activated carbon filter, for removal of free chlorine, phenol, taste and odour as well as
reduction COD / BOD.
Granular Activated Carbon is a well establishing & proven technology for the removal of
taste, odours and gases from water.
It is extremely effective in the removal of many Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and
other Petroleum-based contaminants.
The Ultra Safe Filters use Granular Activated Carbon, manufactured from hard coconut
shell having Iodine content of 900-1000 ppm, whose extraordinary molecular structure
adsorbs much more molecules of contaminant molecules that adhere to its surface,
through absorption and adsorption.

PRESSURE SAND FILTER
We offer durable pressure sand fi l ters that are used for the removal of suspended solids &
turbidity. The pressure sand fi l ter is extremely robust method of removing suspended solids
from water. The fi l tration medium comprised of multip le layer of sand having different size
& specific gravity. As per the needs of customers, we can offer sand fi l ters in various sizes
and material apart from hand operated or ful ly automatically, Fil ter is used for separating
water suspended solid for better operation of f i l ter, suspended solid should be coagulated.
The advantages of pressure fi l ter are high speed of f i l tration, less space, low charge and
prevent heat loss after the warm or hot l ime process.
Pressure fi l ters, which may be vertical or hor izontal , have cylindrical steel shells and
dished heads. The flow in pressure fi l ters is downward. Usually sand or anthracite is the
fi l ter medium in a bed consisting of either one or two grades of sand or anthracite. A gravel
bed supports the fi l ter medium, prevents fine sand or anthracite from passing into the
under drain system and distributes backwash water.
The water, which should be fi l tered, enters over the top of f i l ter and pass from its bed then
they collected at the bottom of f i l ter. The suspended matter is strained out of the water and
held in the voids between the fi l tering granules. The accumulation load of suspended
matter in the bed causes an increasing loss of pressure during the fi l ter run. When this loss
reaches a predetermined l imit, the fi l ter is backwashed upward, discharging the suspended
load out to the sewer.
