Protective Coatings and specialized services

Style Maintenance services offer a variety of protective coating applications and specialized services that include:

Concrete and Render repairs

The concrete and render repairs involve the removal of deteriorated, damaged or defective

concrete and then carrying out an appropriate repair procedure. We use the following methods

to carry out the repairs

Concrete patch repair using an epoxy or cementitious repair mortar;

Style Maintenance Services is an accredited protective coatings specialists with Painting

Contractors Certification Program (PCCP). We have qualified supervisors with NACE

certification for measuring and monitoring quality of the paint application at every stage of the

project.

Style Maintenance Services always prepare and finish our jobs exceeding Australian

standards. We use only the highest quality products – our main paint supplier is

Dulux Paints Australia. Our team is comprised of experienced and qualified trades’

people who are prompt, adhere to safety standards and committed to providing

excellent service. We understand that time frames are of great importance. As such,

we are available to conduct painting works during weekends and holiday periods in

order to ensure minimal disruption.

Protective Coatings

Style Maintenance Services is an

accredited protective coatings specialists

with Painting Contractors Certification

Program (PCCP).

The structures in this field requiring

maintenance painting can vary from

warehouses to exposed steel work to

marine environments. Many of these

types of buildings require specialised

treatment due to either the products that

they are housing, the corrosive

environment they are located in or the

specific requirements of the owner.

Style Maintenance Services specialise in

Epoxy flooring. Schools, workshop

floors, veterinary clinics, medical centres,

kitchen floors, and laboratories all benefit

from the application of an epoxy paint to

their floors. The epoxy floor will not

harbour bacteria, can be easily cleaned

and is very durable. Epoxy flooring

provides a hard wearing, chemical

resistant surface, and is ideal for use in

areas subject to foot and rubber- tyred

vehicle traffic.

It can be applied as a slip resistant texture

to provide maximum safety, and has a

very low odour when being applied so it is

perfect for internal floor areas.

Epoxy can also be used to create anti-slip

floor surfaces. This is achieved by adding

an aggregate (grit) during the mixing

process. The aggregate when dry then

forms a “sandpaper- like” finish that aids

slip resistance.

Lead Based Paint Stripping or Encapsulation

Lead paint that is peeling or chipping poses an immediate safety hazard for young children, since eating even one paint chip can lead poison a child. If you are unsure whether your building is painted with lead based paint Style Maintenance Services can take paint samples from your existing building and have it tested. Depending on a number of factors including the age of the building and the number of layers of paint already existing on your building covering over deteriorating lead paint by enclosing or encapsulating the surfaces is an effective temporary measure. When it is no longer viable or safe to encapsulate lead based paint Style Maintenance Services are experienced at removing lead based paint in a professional and safe manner. We utilise products that are environmentally friendly and cost effective with no disruption to routines.

Hi-Vis Paint for the Visually Impaired

The hazards normal sighted people see can be a

very real danger to the visually impaired. Style

Maintenance Services offer a number of high-vis

painting services.

Hazard Identification

Around the home, at work or even playing in the

park can become a nightmare for those around us

who are partially sighted. Step edges for example

can be very difficult to judge. However with the

painting of high viz step nosings this problem is

easily overcome. Not only does this nosing give

great step edge definition but it is also Anti-Slip.

Eye level definition

With the application of bright yellow paint around these posts and poles they are no longer a threat to the visually impaired. The different heights of the paint allows for those who walk looking slightly down and forward, which is a very natural attitude.

Change of Terrain Uneven ground such as the drain sump

and gully in this photo are a real

problem due to the undulation around

the gully. The painted bright yellow

surround will bring this uneven surface

to the pedestrian’s attention. For

additional safety the paint used in this

application is Anti-Slip

.

Anti-Graffiti Solutions

Removing graffiti from surfaces is usually a difficult and time-consuming chore that

can often damage the surface. Style Maintenance Services specialise in anti-graffiti

coatings that prevent graffiti paint and markers from bonding to the surface. Once

the anti-graffiti coating is applied, spray paint and other graffiti items are easily

removed from the protected surface.

Style Maintenance Services utilise long life anti-graffiti coatings which are a two pack

polyethylene base. They protect your building for up to 10 years against the

penetration of graffiti. Graffiti removal can be performed hundreds of times and is as

easy as spray and wipe. These types of coatings are usually full gloss.

For a cost effective and efficient solution to graffiti removal, Style Maintenance

Services are able to simply colour match and repaint the affected area.

Abrasive Blasting

Style Maintenance Services specialise in on-site abrasive blasting on buildings, bridges, pipework, and tanks and in confined spaces.

By utilising a range of different media types, abrasive blasting may be performed on a number of different substrates including mild steel, wrought iron, aluminium, stainless steel, brick, concrete and fibre glass.

Multidiscipline Services Style Maintenance Services is capable of delivering multidiscipline services with a single management structure to support both project work and maintenance work. SMS offers Protective Coating including dry and wet blasting, Decorative and architectural painting, building and strata maintenance services, concrete repairs, crack repairs including epoxy injection, Water proofing and CFRP works. These services are complimentary to each other during any project execution phase and a single management structure will offer better coordination, cost benefits and timely execution. Style Maintenance services operate in commercial, industrial and residential areas in construction and maintenance projects. Alliance / Partnering Relationship NIS approach to such relationship is a “Win -Win” situation. SMS work with the alliance partner to improve work practices, cost benefits by reduction of duplication on overheads, improved productivity by better scheduling and coordination, safety and quality standards. At present SMS has alliance partners for insulation and scaffolding works and can offer these specialist services for construction and maintenance projects. Productivity Benchmarks and Measure This is an era of productivity improvements and cost reductions. SMS has recognised this and uses a number of techniques to measure productivity and uses innovations and continuous improvement practices to reduce costs. Man-hours are recorded against the WBS and measured against the budget. Trend analysis is carried out to set the benchmarks for future work. Work break down structure, lead and lag indicators, development of budgets and use of cost reporting system are some of the techniques used for controlling and reporting costs. Alignment with Customer Needs and Expectations SMS offers solutions that are aligned with the customer needs and expectations. Lag and lead indicators are used to measure the performance. A customer feedback is obtained by using Customer survey forms during and after the completion of a project. This feedback helps in evaluating the performance and identifies improvement areas.

Sydney Trains – Multi Site Repainting, Paint Stripping and Industrial Cleaning:

Repainting, paint stripping and industrial cleaning over 300 Railway Stations across

New South Wales. With work requiring completion out of peak operational hours and

contracts valued in excess of 5 million dollars, all works were successfully completed

within project timeframes.

Grit blasting removal of 120 square metres of a failed coating system which is

designed to protect these three concrete chemical storage bunds at a local sewerage

treatment plant. We grit blasted the old failed coating then applied a 5 coat Sika system

designed to withstand some of the harshest chemicals in the industry

NAB Multi Site Repainting: Repainting of over 50 National Australia Bank’s

simultaneously in New South Wales. With the work requiring completion out of normal

business hours it was successfully delivered within 3 months.
