Attendance

Certain events during Greek Week 2015 will be based solely on attendance. As we are a diverse Greek

community, there will be a unique system in place by which points are awarded.

Attendance Incentive:

1-49% of active membership in attendance= 50 points

50-74% of active membership in attendance= 100 points

75-99% of active membership in attendance= 150 points

100% of active membership in attendance= 200 points

Double attendance incentive:

1-49% of active membership in attendance= 100 points

50-74% of active membership in attendance= 200 points

75-99% of active membership in attendance= 300 points

100% of active membership in attendance= 400 points

The “active membership in attendance” will be based on those who are available for the event. This means

that those who are on the “excused list” for events will not be figured into this percentage.

*Percentages will be rounded up or down to the nearest whole number.

Excused List/ Class Schedule Accommodations:

Members will be eligible for an excused absence if they have class during the time of an event.

Note: Work will not count as an excused absence.

The president or appointed representative of each fraternity/sorority is expected to submit all

excused absences for ALL Greek Week events by Wednesday, 18.

When submitted, the excused list should be broken down by day and by event.

Members that are on the excused list will not be able to check-in for points at the event.

If the excused list is turned in past the deadline, you will receive a 75 point deduction from your

attendance point total.

If no excuses are turned in at all, every member listed as active on your roster will be counted for

each attendance based event.

General Rules

Good sportsmanship is expected at ALL times. No exceptions. See Sportsmanship

Clause.

All rules must be followed according to this manual.

All chapters and chapter members must follow all UT Tyler policies and procedures in

conjunction with Greek Week activities.

All chapters must be represented appropriately at each event. See Chapter

Representation Rule.

In the event of a tie, both chapters will take the place tied for and the following place

will not be awarded.

Have FUN!!!

Team Events

Certain events in Greek Week 2015 will be designated as “Team Events”. At the event,

members of the Greek Week Committee will randomly split up those participating into

separate teams. These teams will compete against each other for the entire event.

The following events will be designated as “Team Events”:

Bubble Soccer Game

These events will be described in greater detail with the “description of the event”.

Page 6: Come Together: Greek Stock · Welcome to Greek Week 2015, the week where all Greek brothers and sisters come together to compete, serve the community, and show the UT Tyler campus

Sportsmanship Clause:

All teams will agree by their participation in Greek Week 2015 to uphold the best qualities of

sportsmanship. This code of sportsmanship applies to all areas of Greek Week including but

not limited to: Greek Week activities, Greeks Give Back, Lip Sync, Greek Games, ALL forms

of social media, and any other area deemed part of Greek Week or an extension thereof by

the Greek Week Steering Committee. This code of sportsmanship is to be upheld by all

participating members (Greek chapters, Student Organizations, By-standers, alumni, etc.)

of Greek Week 2015. If any one participant or group of participants is found by the Greek

Week Steering Committee to have violated this clause, ALL participating chapters will lose

ALL previously given points, any points that have yet to be given will no longer be given,

and the Overall Winner of Greek Week Award will be removed from the award ceremony.

Chapter Representation

Rule:

All chapters must be represented at every single event by an active member in order to be

eligible to win the award for Overall Greek Week Winner. If a chapter is not represented by

an appropriate amount of members (according to the event or task) at the official start

time of that event, that team will be disqualified from winning the title of Overall Greek

Week Winner regardless of overall points. Any chapters that may become disqualified from

this title are welcome and encouraged to continue to participate in all remaining Greek

Week activities but they must still abide by the sportsmanship clause listed in the official

Greek Week rules. Being disqualified for the title of Overall Greek Week Winner does NOT

disqualify that chapter from winning any other title.
