2010 Transmission System Assessment

• Assessments are completed each year• The 2010 Assessment will be complete in July

– Summer and winter conditions– 5 and 10 years into the future– Problems identified can be addressed by the

transmission owners or through ColumbiaGrid Study Teams

• Transmission owners are also using the assessment to help demonstrate compliance with NERC Reliability Standards

Northwest Area Coordinator

• ColumbiaGrid officially began performing this function for the Northwest area on March 5, 2010– Previously performed by BPA
