What is COLOUR POPPING?

Colour Popping brings focus on a particular colour(s) while the rest of the picture is black & white. This can be done using Photoshop or for us, Adobe After Effects.

How did we use this?

To use colour popping for video, you must use adobe after effects. This is done by selecting the area which we would like to be isolated for every frame and animating these to create a moving picture.

Tools?

We used the Roto Brush tool to select the areas more efficiently, this tool recognises outlines and tries to animate the created mask to increase the efficiency of editing. Although we used this tool it still took a VERY long time.

Overall?

I believe this effect is very effective and can connote many things as it isolates the character or an item tom show significance of loneliness.
