Colour and Emotions
We can use colour to describe how we are feeling.
Colours can have warm and cool tones.
We can choose warm and cool tones to create an atmosphere or mood in our art work.
Look at the following colours and talk about how they make you feel.
Is it a warm or a cool colour?

Mixing Colours
What do you already know about mixing colours?
• Can you name the Primary colours?
• Can you name the Secondary colours?
• What are Tertiary colours?
Experiment with mixing colours using paint or chalk pastels.

The Colour Wheel.• Colours opposite each
other are called Contrasting Colours• Colours next door to each
other are called Complimentary Colours We can use this to help
create atmosphere in our art work.
