hues (another term for “color” in the spectrum of color.
• The basic tool we use when dealing with color
The Primary Colors• The basic 3
colors• Cannot be
created by mixing pigments together.
• All other colors are made from these
The Secondary Colors• Made by mixing
equal parts of 2 Primary colors.
The Tertiary Colors
• Made by mixing equal parts of a primary and a secondary color.
• Named by the Primary color first.
Value• The lightness or
darkness of a hue• Amount of black
and white in a color

Intensity• The brightness or dullness of a hue—based
