Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
Identifies & begin to treat life threatening injuries when first to arrive at an emergency
A great class for those looking to volunteer and/or increase 1st aid skills
5 Credit hour course
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN
EMT teaches how to assess, treat, and safely move the sick & injured
EMT is offered in the Fall, Spring, & Summer Semesters
10 Credit Hours
1 semester
Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening, to work around your schedule

Students who pass the National Registry (NREMT) Exam at the end of class receive both the Illinois State License and the NREMT Certification.

Class takes one year to complete
Programs are taught at four area hospitals:
Central DuPage, Edward, Good Samaritan, & Loyola
EMT’s apply to the individual program, & receive college credit once accepted

Fire 2287: Medical AssessmentEMT’s build a strong foundation of differential Medical Assessment.
Knowledge and skills enhanced through case-based scenarios.
