Putting the Puzzle Together It's like building the pieces of a puzzle as you put the puzzle together. That's a pretty fairdescription of the "design-build" process being used to construct the ColumbusCrossroads I-71/670 Interchange. Each element of the emerging interchange has its own crew ofspecialists: some working on bridge supports, others installing concrete beams and still othersexcavating a tunnel. Meanwhile, schedulers piece together the work to ensure that the rightpeople and equipment are in place at the right time. Check out some recent photos of these crews at work.

Installing wall straps which act as reinforcementwhen it comes to holding the soil to stabilize thewall near what will eventually be the ClevelandAvenue entrance ramp.

Work Zone Congestion. All those trucks areneeded for excavation for ramps, interstatelane miles and bridges near I-71 north andSpring Street.

What Does it Take to Build the ColumbusCrossroads? So far, 3,060 linear feet of steel pipe have been used in the Columbus Crossroads project. Thepipe is used for storm water drainage.

How much pipe is that? 3,060 linear feet of pipe is the equivalent of five Leveque Towers stackedon top of each other.
