Several times a year, the Central pastorsand staff offer "Coffee with the Pastors."The next one will be held on Sunday at10:30 a.m., June 28th in the WesleyRoom. This is an opportunity for inquirersto learn more about Central UMC, itsmission, Methodism, and membershipexpectations. We invite anyone to attendCWTP and if you desire, you may joinCentral at the conclusion of the "Coffee."

ALL NEW MEMBERS SHOULD ATTEND A CWTP.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLECollege students from Central UMC are eligible to apply for the followingscholarships. All scholarships are paid directly to the school of choice forthe applicant. *L.O. Todd Memorial Scholarship:Church or school related vocation *Walter Henderson Memorial Scholarship: Ministerial vocation *Birdie Brooks Memorial Scholarship: Church related vocation *Crooks Memorial Scholarship: No vocational restriction *Virginia Phillips Scholarship: No vocational restriction *H. Lowry Rush, Jr. Scholarship: Medical related vocation *Bob Rivers Memorial Scholarship: No vocational restriction Scholarships are awarded by the Scholarship Committee of CentralUMC and are based on character, commitment, and need of theapplicant. We will provideopportunities to help with meals, care packages,tutoring, pick-up of children, cards, entertainment, andany necessary needs the Branning's may have Junethru December. Each mentor will haveone 9th grade guy to mentor for the school year of2015-2016! The length of time needed is only 30 min,twice a month! CENTRAL'S RAMP MINISTRY The CUMC ramp team will build a 22-foot ramp forVirginia Clark on Saturday, June 20th. DISTRICT RAMP MINISTRYThe District Ramp Ministry is hurting for participationright now and in serious trouble. We need a largeenough pool of volunteers so that we can continue thework without burning out our folks who are getting olderand older. Due to people moving, sickness, lingeringinjuries and death, we have lost a number of faithfulRamp Builders. We believe this is a ministry worthsharing and worth being part of your local church'soutreach. If you have questions or would like tovolunteer, please call Jerry W. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Thank you to EVERYONE who has made this weeks VBS a huge success. It has takena "village" to create the village of Nazareth! We have had over 60 workers each dayhelping 130+ children to understand in their minds and hearts that while Jesus came forthem, died for them, He was a child... just like them. He had family and friends. Helaughed, played, had relationships. It is our prayer, that in this basic understanding,children begin to establish a foundation for an eternal relationship with Jesus. On Sunday morning the congregation will have an opportunity to see the week's eventsthrough a video presentation, but until that point, you may visit our church web page orFacebook for postings of daily events.While this week took SO many people...each one essential...we cannot complete VBSwithout a HUGE thank you to Erin Honeycutt, along with Mary Jarvis Futrell for manymonths of behind the scenes preparation to make this new endeavor such a success!Because our new endeavor included period costumes, "Terese Stuckman and Company"(Terese, Caroline Carns, Joan Bartik, Mary Ethridge, Kay Pellegrin, and Alan and MarilynBrown) made over 225 costumes so that both teachers AND students could have a morerealistic experience of life in Nazareth! There are just no words to adequately thankEVERYONE who helped, but special blessings upon the above names for many, many,many, hours of dedication to the cause. Each time a baby is baptized, may we bereminded of weeks like this. We vow, before God, to help raise these children to know,love and serve Him. For those involved in this week's VBS, thank you for continuing tofulfill this vow, for not only these babies, but for all who walked through the doors ofCentral this week!
