7. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.8. To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal ductwork.9. Use with approved cord-connection kit only.

1. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings.Believers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that mayignite. Neat oils slowly on low or medium settings.

2. Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or whencooking flaming foods.

3. Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not beallowed to accumulate on fan or filter.

4. Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriatefor the size of the surface element. 2

2. To avoid motor bearing damage and noisy and/orunbalanced impellers, keep drywall spray, constructiondust, etc. off power unit.

3. For best capture of cooking impurities, your range hoodshould be mounted so that the top of the hood is 24-30"above the cooking surface.

4. Use only with range hood cord-connection kits that havebeen investigated and found acceptable for use with thismodel range hood.

5. Please read specification label on product for furtherinformation and requirements.

hood is to be installed Non-Ducted:Purchase a non-ducted filter from your Iocamdistributor or retailer and install it beneath thealuminum mesh filter.

Speed

Infinite speed slide control controls blower speed.

Slower

Turns the blower "ON" and "OFF".

When the blower is turned "OFF", the speed control remainsat the preset speed. When the b!ower is turned on again, it willreturn to the previously chosen setting.

Light

Turns the light "ON" and "OFF".

First position turns on both bulbs for normal lighting.

Second position turns off the left side bulb. If you want a night-light feature, combine a 75 Watt bulb (on the left) and a 25Watt bulb (on the right).

Third position turns both bulbs "OFF".

Maximum bulb rating is 75 Watts. Do not install bulbs ratedhigher than 75 Watts.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock,disconnect from power supply before cleaning.

Aluminum mesh filters

Clean frequently using hot water and a mild detergent or inyour dishwasher. The aluminum mesh filters should be washedapproximately every month depending on the amount of us-age. Wash more often if your cooking style generates greatergrease - like frying foods or wok cooking.

Non=ducted filters (Clean Cooking hoods only)(available separately - see page 4)

Clean filter surfaces frequently with a damp cloth and a milddetergent. DO NOT immerse filters in water or put in dish-washer. With normal hood use, replace the non-ducted filtersapproximately every 6 months. Replace filters more often ashood use increases.

Painted hood surfaces

Wiping regularly with mild soap/detergent and warm watershould protect painted hood surfaces. Be cautious about us-ing "New and Improved" cleaning agents. Your hood is in-stalled over hot cooking equipment. Most chemicals found incleaning agents react with heat to loosen paint.

Stainmess steem hood surfaces

Stainless steel hoods should be washed regularly with a cleancloth, warm water and mild soap or dish detergent. Clean inthe direction of the polish lines. Rinse well with clear waterand wipe dry immediately. You may wish to apply light oil usedfor furniture polishing to emphasize its bright finish.

Smower assembmy

Blower assembly can be cleaned with a damp cloth and milddetergent. Use care when cleaning blower wheels - they mustnot become bent or misaligned. DO NOTALLOW WATER TOENTER MOTOR= Make sure all surfaces are completely drybefore re-installing filters and restoring power=

Motor is permanently lubricated. Do not oil or disassemblemotor.

1. Determine whether hood will discharge vertically, hori-zontally, or non-ducted.

For vertical or horizontal discharge, run ductwork betweenthe hood location and a roof cap or wall cap.

For best results, use a minimum number of transitions andelbows.

1. Re@osition the btower for nomducted discharge.

Move the Blower Mounting Rods to the Front Holes inthe hood support channels. Position the blower so that itlines up with the Louvered Opening on the hood front.Slip the blower mounting rods into brackets on blowerand tighten knurbd nuts securely. Plug in blower.

1. Connect House Wiring (120 VAC) to hood. Use a piece ofCardboard to protect the cooktop, if necessary.

CAUTION: BuBbs may be hot! Refer to bulb pack-aging for further information.

4. Turn on power at service panel, and test for properoperation.
