Tutoring Facilities We understand that tutoring can be stressful, so Coastal Bend College, in partnership with the CBC Title V Celebrando Educación grant, has invested in furniture, state-of-the-art technology, and tools to help students study in comfort at all CBC locations. From bean bag chairs to curl up and read a book in, or café height tables to gather around with your classmates, CBC provides all students with a space to enjoy at no extra cost. We invite you to come look and utilize the Student Success Centers/Tutoring Areas at your local CBC site. The Student Development Specialist or Tutor Coordinator will be happy to show you around. In addition to one-on-one tutoring sessions, CBC offers group study socials to help students make friends and develop their skills in a fun and productive environment.

Tutoring Services

Coastal Bend College provides free tutoring and eTutoring (online tutoring) for all current CBC students in most subject areas* as part of our Student Success Center Tutor Program. Our tutors and success skills workshops are flexible around your schedule to ensure that you get the help you need in order to succeed.

Tutoring Events

If an informal, casual tutoring session is more your style, then make sure to attend one of our fun Study Socials or Study Week events. Tutors at these events will be available to quickly help you with most of your tutoring needs.

CBC’s tutoring events are perfect for students who want to drop by and get some tutoring or quick help with their homework, upcoming research paper, or a big test. We’ll help you make the grade you’ve worked hard for!

We’ll even provide snacks, food, and drinks to keep your energy and grades up at our tutoring events. It’s just another way that CBC rocks!

We focus on teaching students new study techniques and note taking skills that will foster student and academic success.

We’re always seeking qualified students with a desire to help others succeed at CBC. We need tutors for all subject areas.

Benefits of Being a Tutor: y On-campus/site y Flexible hours y Resumé booster y Help others succeed y Earn money ($7.25/hour)

Eligibility: y Must have a cumulative grade point

average of 2.5 or higher. y Must have a “B” or better in the subject area

to be tutored.
