1.2 Introduction
CNC Design Sdn Bhd, as part of CNC Design Group operation within the Southeast Asia is commenced its operation in February 2003. As a group, CNC Design Group was established in Australia in 1984. Since then CNC Design Group grown to become the leader in Motion Control Solutions for machine tools and production machines in the Southeast Asia and Australasia region. CNC Design Group has active offices in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. As of the other offices, CNC Design Sdn Bhd is offering complete automation solution to manufacturers and users of Machine Tools, our strength is our advanced engineering and technology. Siemens Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is our key partner. CNC Design Sdn Bhd. is their sole representative for products and services for machine tools application in Malaysia. 1.3 Business Activities
Our core of businesses are providing the utmost after sales support for the end-user of
Siemens CNC system, technical support for machine tools makers, CNC programming
and machine tools maintenance training, and reliable CNC retrofit package based on
Siemens CNC system.
Since our Company’s policy is to “open frontiers”, our staff had been trained in our other offices
and have established good partnership with the Engineering teams there.
1.3.1 After Sales Support for Siemens CNC Equipment
CNC Design Sdn Bhd is the sole representative for Siemens Malaysia for its associated
products related to CNC system in machine tools application. We are responsible to ensure
utmost customer satisfaction by providing the fast response field service activities, full warranty
product coverage and technical support for all associated parties including machine tool
makers, machine tool dealers and the end-users.
1.3.2 Machine Tools Makers (OEM) Support
CNC Design Sdn Bhd is working together with potential machine tool makers in Malaysia to
share the risk of machine tool development and providing any necessary engineering support
for enabling increased productivity and quality. Our engineering team have been exposed to
many OEMs within the region, hence shared skill and expertise will be of our key advantages.
1.3.3 CNC Retrofit
We help our customers to cater with the demanding productivity level by offering a CNC retrofit
solution based on Siemens CNC system. This will put back our customer machine tools to
production with the state of the art technology of CNC system while always put price to
performance factor on the top priority.
1.3.4 CNC Programming and Maintenance Training
Our skilled engineers are keen on sharing their knowledge. Hence, provision of dedicated and
customized training to our customers and partners are of our main priority. Our training
programmes are based on practical experiences we are gathering on the field of machine tools
application. In addition, the existence of our SE Asia and Australasia offices is enabling us to
deliver the training both in English and local languages. Our training programs will be
utilizing Siemens CNC simulators and real machine tools equipped with Siemens CNC control
to enable effective hands on practice.

1.4 People
Due to its regional strategic existence, CNC Design has a pool of engineering resources that
can be shared quickly. Out of more than 110 people within our group, more than 80 people are
of experienced engineers.
We have also set up our internal hotline communication channel for the engineers to
share the knowledge and escalating the technical topics. This will be of benefit to our
customers for reliable support even for most advanced and complicated cases.

1.6 Associated Services Supported by CNC Design Sdn Bhd
1.6.1 On-site Machine Troubleshooting/diagnostics
Our troubleshooting services consist of on-site machine diagnostics. This will be the responsibility of our Service Team in our organization. We will deploy an engineer(s) to site where customer needs assists for machine troubleshooting where the cause might causes by faulty parts. The deployment of our Service Engineer will based by the Purchase Order issued by the customers at first.
1.6.2 SIMOTICS Servomotors Encoder Replacement/Alignment
Our services also consist of replacement of 1FT/1FK servomotors encoder which is faulty and needs replacement and realignment of the encoder. Usually, the faulty motor will be sent to our office and the replacement/alignment of the encoder will be done by our engineers in our office.

2.1 Objectives
The objectives of the training centre are: 1. To popularize Siemens SINUMERIK courses in Malaysia 2. To expand service knowledge for Siemens SINUMERIK system 3. To certified the qualified person to be competent handling SINUMERIK system 4. To become Siemens-SITRAIN partner in providing Siemens SINUMERIK training in
Malaysia 5. To expand our activities to use Siemens SINUMERIK system 6. To actively start marketing of Siemens products to our existing customers and finding new
end-users.
2.2 Opportunities and Prospects
2.2.1 Existing Customers/End-Users
Previously we have received lots of enquiries regarding Siemens SINUMERIK training courses in Malaysia. Since we are the distributor for Siemens SINUMERIK system, we have to step up to provide such courses in Malaysia. Past training courses conducted by CNC Design Sdn Bhd:
1. Siemens SINUMERIK 808D Milling – Operation and Programming 2. Siemens SINUMERIK 828D/ 840D sl Milling – Operation and Programming 3. Siemens SINUMERIK 840D Power Line – Service Training 4. Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl Solution Line – Service Training
In the past, we have conducted training as requested by the end-users/customers. Then, we revised the syllabus as the customer’s needs. Usually, the training will took place in CNC Design office in Subang which we have our own simulator dedicated for training and testing purposes. The duration of the training is 5 days. Since, we are now having our own training centre in our new office in Johor, we are keen to promote our facilities and offers to existing and new customers.
2.3 Siemens SINUMERIK Training - Standard Courses
Besides our SINUMERIK Train the Trainer (TTT) courses, we would like to conduct courses which will be delivered by CNC Design trainers with Siemens SITRAIN certification. This will generate more opportunities for training courses related to CNC especially SINUMERIK system. The advantages of these training courses are:
1. Improve the skills and knowledge to program and operate CNC machines with DIN and ISO programs. 2. Improve the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose machines which are using Siemens SINUMERIK, Siemens Simatic PLC, and Simotion. 3. Certify the training participants through exams conducted by CNC Design and Siemens Malaysia - SITRAIN

2.3.1 Operating and Programming SINUMERIK 808D Milling
Course Description / Objective: SINUMERIK 808D Milling is a very economical control, that’s perfect for training in ISO CNC programming and for building or retrofitting of basic standard machines. With SINUMERIK 808D, the latest CNC technology is now available for basic standard milling and turning machines. It goes without saying that Siemens also ensures that entry level CNCs have the maximum degree of robustness. Introduction to Siemens SINUMERIK 808D as well as Siemens products will be given at the start of the training. This course will introduce the components related to 808D Milling system and focus on operation and programming of the controller.
