Clayton Valley Charter Graduation Requirements
To graduate from CVCHSstudents must:
1. Complete 220 semester credits in the specific subject areas. (Each semester class is worth 5 credits and students are enrolled in 30 credits of coursework each semester).
2. Pass and complete Algebra I
3. Pass the CA High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) English portion (passing score 350+) Math portion (passing score 350+)
*Students will take the CAHSEE for the first time in the Spring of their 10th grade year.

California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)
What is the CAHSEE? State law, enacted in 1999, authorized the development of the
California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE), which students in California public schools would have to pass to earn a high school diploma. Beginning with the 2005-06 school year, all California public school students are required to pass the CAHSEE and meet all other state and local requirements to earn a high school diploma.
What is the purpose of the CAHSEE? The purpose of the CAHSEE is to improve student achievement
in high school and to help ensure that students who graduate from high school can demonstrate grade level competency in reading, writing, and mathematics.
