Warm up 15 min Ice breaker, to diagnose students’ level of English; I will hand out a blank piece of paper for them to write their full names, then I will collect the papers mix them up and hand them over again, once they open the paper and see the name of the person written on it the need to guess who is more likely to be named that, they have to go find the person till he/she is found, Motivate students by saying that if they don’t understand what they’re being told. Explain what the purpose of the activity is. They will sit together. Transition On the board write I’m Byron and you? Tell students we will learn how to introduce ourselves to someone Teaching 20 min I will paste a letter A on my chest and will assign letter B for my students. As I play the audio for conversation 1 and then the audios on the pair work box at the bottom of page 1 we will practice: 1) listening and repeating the conversation model, then have student complete the worksheet they will have*. 2) Play the audio for the pair work part practicing Greetings and Responses. 3) Pronunciation using the pronunciation cards. For nice to meet you, glad to meet you and it’s a pleasure to meet you. Students should be in small groups of 3 and I will pass the cards with pronunciation symbols and strategies. Then they will practice with me role-playing the conversation at the top I’ll play A and they will play B repeat it a few times and then have them take a letter (A and B from my desk to role play this with a friend) have them practice as many times as they can 4) feedback. Transition 1 minAsk the students in Spanish what they will say next after introducing themselves “how are you” possible answer.Teaching 15 minI will teach the second objective, greet people, and I will follow the same procedure as in the first teaching but omit the A, B part, have students get a piece of paper that has a greeting and a response, again the will complete their worksheet, and then they will stand up going from introducing themselves to greeting themselves, but once they finished they will swap papers, having a new role and finally following the same procedure. Feedback: other ways to greet; good morning, good afternoon, good evening.

Ask what they will have to say next if the conversation had to finished the conversation “good bye”

Teaching 5 minutes

Just teach what’s on page 3 on how to say good-bye and pronunciation for other ways to say good-bye. Students will complete their worksheet. They will repeat after you.

Wrap-up 15 minutes

Students will practice with the worksheet they have completed through the class today, then w/out assistance from the paper, in pairs they will organize a conversation I will hand out in a worksheet, have them practice it in class.
