As her University Supervisor, I feel qualified to assess Miss Koshute 's performance. Planning and Preparation: Miss Koshute displayed the ability to develop excellent lesson plans that often provided meaningful, creative activities. Her lesson plans contained a wide variety of detailed, age- appropriate procedures that were logically sequenced. Lesson objectives were consistently clearly written, measurable, and linked to appropriate assessments. Maeve is a highly organized individual and she was always well prepared for lessons by having the necessary instructional materials prepared well in advance, organized, and readily available for easy distribution and use. She was consistently prepared for instruction with a clear understanding of lesson content. She provided a supportive environment by providing specific, positive feedback and sincere praise to her students. Maeve was enthusiastic and her students were typically highly engaged and motivated. She created excellent displays that enhanced the educational environment. Instructional Delivery: Miss Koshute had good voice projection and incorporated wonderful vocal intonations. She did an excellent job of presenting clear, specific directions and explanations, along with expectations to attentive students, offered examples and modeled directions so that the students had a definite understanding of them, and consistently checked for student understanding. Lesson procedures were well paced and Maeve provided fine transitions between instructional strategies. She often created instructional aids that enhanced the delivery of content. She displayed outstanding questioning skills, worked to involve all learners during questioning sessions, and actively listened to student responses. Her technological skills are commendable. Professionalism: Miss Koshute met all of the university's student teaching requirements in a thorough and timely manner. I truly enjoyed reading her meaningful, focused, and positive reflections about her student teaching experiences in her reflective journal. Maeve displayed professional behavior at all times and immediately responded to suggestions to further her professional growth and development. As noted by the competency ratings listed on each Clarion University "Student Teaching Performance Profile," Miss Maeve Koshute shows most definite promise to be a highly effective beginning teacher.
