The following items are scheduled for public hearing at the September 24, 2012 Regular City Council Meeting. The public is invited to speak on public hearing items; however, comments are limited to three-minutes per person. For information contact the Office of the City Clerk at 907.373.9090.

1. Ordinance Serial No. 12-31: Amending the Wasilla Police Department's FY 2013 budget for acceptance of Federal Asset Forfeiture Funds in the amount of $64,300 for the purchase of a new fully-equipped Wasilla Police Department K-9 vehicle.

NOTICE OF ELECTION OCTOBER 2, 2012, REGULAR CITY ELECTION

The City of Wasilla will conduct a Regular City Election on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, for the purpose of electing the following offices:

EARLY VOTINGEarly Voting will be available from September 17 through October 1, 2012, at any of the following locations:

ABSENTEE BY-MAIL VOTINGQualified City voters may apply for a ballot to be mailed to them by submitting an Absentee By-Mail Ballot Application. Applications must be received in the Office of the City Clerk by September 25, 2012. Visit www.cityofwasilla.com for an application.

POLLING PLACES On Election Day, polling places for the City of Wasilla are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. City polling places are: Precinct: 9-120, Wasilla I--Wasilla City Hall, 290 E. Herning Avenue, WasillaPrecinct: 9-125, Wasilla II--Floyd D. Smith Senior Center, 1301 S. Century Circle, Wasilla

Electioneering Prohibited: During the hours the polls are open, no person who is in the polling place or within 200 feet of any entrance of the polling place may attempt to persuade a person to vote for or against a candidate, proposition or question, nor may any person conduct other political activities that may pertain to any future election or potential ballot proposition.

SPECIAL NEEDS OR ASSISTANCEIf you or someone you know requires special assistance in voting due to a disability or bilingual need, please contact the Office of the City Clerk at least 24 hours before the time of casting ballots so that arrangements may be made.
