Highway 1431 intersects Highway 281 from east to west. Centrally located, it seems that all roads in Texas lead to Marble Falls. It is 45 miles northwest of Austin, 85 miles north of San Antonio, 210 miles northwest of Houston, and 190 miles southwest of Dallas. Renowned for scenic beauty, visitors come to this area to experience our beautiful waterways and lush, rolling hills. Indigenous species range from American bald eagles during winter months to great old live oaks that shade the landscape throughout the seasons. Spring brings a burst of color with a multitude of wildflowers including our state flower, the bluebonnet. Fields and back roads are covered with blossoms as far as the eye can see. Many amateur and professional photographers and artists come to capture the natural beauty of the Highland Lakes area. It includes picnic tables, barbeque pits, a softball field, beach volleyball court, hike and bike trail and a boat ramp. Westside Park intersection of 2nd St. and Avenue Q. The park is 13 acres of fun and relaxation located along Backbone Creek. It includes picnic tables, barbeque grills, a fenced dog park, tetherballs, swings, hike and bike trail and a disc golf course. Falls Creek Park and Skatepark 900 Yett Street This park adjoins Lakeside Park on the east and Johnson Park on the west. There are several picnic tables, barbeque pits, a canoe-launch area and restroom facilities. The Skatepark is a 12,000-square-foot concrete and granite park with a number of unique features and elements such as The Parthenon Loop, the Double-Dorito Hip, the Bowless Corner and the Rainbow Rail. Lakeside Park 307 Buena Vista Located on beautiful Lake Marble Falls where the calm waters of the lake provide a perfect course for one of the largest drag boat races in the country. It includes a swimming pool, covered picnic tables, barbeque pits, tennis court, basketball court and boat ramp. Villa Vista Park Villa Vista Way (7th Street) This park is the City's only developed neighborhood pocket park. a pocket park is a small park accessible to the general public that is created on small, irregular pieces of land . Marble Falls ISD is a progressive, growing school district located in the heart of the Highland Lakes region of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. In addition to lakes, fishing, boating, waterskiing, and golfing, you’ll find modern school facilities equipped with the latest technology

The District encompasses a very large land area (268 square miles) and serves the students, parents and communities of Marble Falls, Meadowlakes, Granite Shoals, Highland Haven, Cottonwood, Fairland, Smithwick, Horseshoe Bay South and Spicewood.

Although large in size, the Marble Falls ISD area offers residents a home-town atmosphere with plenty of terrific dining and shopping alternatives. MFISD is classified as a 5-A district and has a growing enrollment exceeding 4,000 students.
