PROPOSED LIBRARY CONSOLIDATION PLAN FOR ADRIAN PUBLIC LIBRARY AND THE LENAWEE COUNTY LIBRARY

The City of Adrian has developed a plan to consolidate library services with Lenawee County.

At present, both entities have a main library branch within the City limits, thus offering many

duplicative services. Attached is a proposed consolidation plan that has been submitted to

Lenawee County for consideration. Significant savings for both the City and the County could

be realized, with estimated cost savings of $200,000 annually.

In addition to this proposal, the City has previously cooperated with other entities in a number of

areas. A listing follows of many of these previous consolidations along with their respective

financial savings where estimates have been made.
