STILT-WALKING Level 1 1. Walk confidently on stilts for 5 minutes (inside) 2. March on the spot lifting knees up 3. Demonstrate a good level of safety awareness - correct fastening of stilts to legs - picking up or avoiding things on the floor - being aware of the dangers of stilt-walking etc Level 2 1. Walk confidently on stilts for 15 minutes 2. Stand still on stilts for 1 minute (small movements only) 3. March in time with music 4. Hold hands while walking with other stilt walkers 5. Help someone else learn to tie on and walk on stilts Level 3 1. Dance or move confidently in time to music with other stilt walkers 2. Perform a specialty trick such as - play a musical instrument - juggle - use diablo - baton twirling - club swinging - devil sticks etc Level 4 1. ROLLA BOLLA

Level 1 1. Get on a rolla bolla without any help2. Balance for one minute without holding on to anything

Level 21. Balance for 3 minutes2. Perform extra balance activity on a rolla bolla using props such as

- peakcock feathers- poles, etc

3. Perform a specialty trick on a rolla bolla such as- juggling- Diablo- Ball spinning- Plate spinning- Hoola hoop

4. Squat down and stand up straight again

Level 3.1. Balance on a rolla bolla on top of a low table or box2. Develop a more advanced specialty trick possibly involving

- other props- another person (s)- other circus skills- music- a character- a storyline

PLATE SPINNING

Level 1.1. Start plate spinning at least 10 times2. Spin plate for at least 30 seconds3. Pass spinning plate to another stick held in your other hand4. Pass spinning plate to another person5. Demonstrate how to handle and put away equipment responsibly

Level 2. 1. Spin plate for at least 1 minute2. Throw spinning plate up and catch it on the stick3. Transfer spinning plate to finger and back to stick4. Flip stick and catch spinning plate on the other end of the stick5. Teach someone else plate spinning

Level 3.1. Start plate spinning with eyes closed2. Spin plate with your other hand3. Pass spinning plate

- under your arms- under your leg- behind your back

4. Spin plate whilst on a rolla bolla, stilts or unicycle5. Develop a routine to music either by yourself or with others

Level 4. 1. Spin 2 plates – one in each hand2. Develop your own plate spinning routine specialty trick

- possibly involving more than one spinning plate, other circus skills, other people, other props, a storyline, etc

UNICYCLING

Level 1.1. Ride alongside a fence until you can maintain your balance2. Ride one lap of the basketball court clockwise3. Ride one lap of the basketball anti-clockwise4. Demonstrate a turn to the left and to the right5. Demonstrate good safety habits with unicycles and all circus

equipment

Level 2. 1. Mount unicycle without holding on to anything2. Complete three consecutive figure 8 turns (Bike Ed.)3. Ride between two parallel lines 50cm apart (Bike Ed.)4. Turn left and right in 1.5m turning boxes (Bike Ed.)5. Pinwheel with one other unicyclist6. Ride in a chain (holding arms) with three or more other children7. Hold a pole, stick or umbrella vertically in one hand while riding8. Help someone else learn to ride the unicycle

Level 3. 1. Ride between two parallel lines 150mm apart (Bike Ed.)2. Pinwheel with three or more other children3. Ride over a low see-saw4. Raise yourself off the seat whilst rocking or riding5. Bunny hop ten times6. Rock or idle on the spot for at least 10 seconds7. Develop a specialty trick on the unicycle such as: Pat bounce a large

ball, skip while bunny hopping, juggle, balance a pole on your palm, perform with a yo yo, spinning plates, Diablo, baton twirling

8. Demonstrate a high level of safety and confidence whilst riding

Level 4.1. Ride backwards (5 metres or more)2. Lift one foot off the pedal whilst rocking or riding3. Assist in teaching several other people to ride the unicycle4. Develop a more advanced specialty act: possibly involving music,

other circus skills, other people, a storyline, a character, etc.

DIABOLO

Level 1. 1. Start Diabolo spinning2. Throw up and catch diabolo3. Correct inward and outward tiliting

Level 2. 1. Throw and catch 3 high throws2. Throw and catch 3 low wide throws3. Throw, jump the string and catch the diabolo4. Throw up and catch with a partner5. Help someone else learn the diabolo

Level 31. Throw and catch at least 10 times in quick succession (trampoline)2. Throw diabolo through a hoop on a pole3. Throw, do an acrobatic/comic stunt and catch4. Demonstrate whipping to spin diabolo faster5. Start diabolo spinning in the opposite direction (left/right handed)6. With partner throw and catch the diabolo

- side by side dropping less than 1 in 20 catches- front to back- back to back

7. Develop several specialty tricks such as- over the foot- over the leg- over the arm- bouncing diabolo in the centre of the string- catch behind the back- climbing the string- pass the hand sticks behind your back with diabolo spinning

on the string- a move ending up with crossed arms, then uncross your

arms8. Combine diabolo with another skill such as stilt walking, rolla bolla,

skipping, dancing, unicycling, etc9. Teach other people the more advanced tricks you do

Level 41. Make up more advanced specialty tricks such as

- sending diabolo up a fixed string to the ceiling- - around the world- - around the world with stop overs

2. Put together a diabolo routine involving several tricks in a sequence possibily involving other people, other props, other skills, a storyline.

3. Perform a three minute diabolo routine before an audience

JUGGLING

Level 1.1. Juggle three scarves (20 throws)

Level 2 1. Juggle 3 scarves (100 throws)2. Juggle three balls or rings (20 throws)3. Show someone else how to juggle

Level 3.1. Juggle three balls (100 throws)2. Three ball juggling tricks

– clawing – under each leg (both hands)– behind the back– low wide throws

3. With a partner - Stealing with partner face to face- Stealing with partner side to side- Pass balls every other or every third throw)

4. Juggle 3 rings (50 throws)5. Juggle three clubs (20 throws)

Level 4. 1. Juggle three clubs (100 throws)2. Juggle three rings (100 throws)3. Three ball tricks – flash

- floor bouncing- reverse cascade- showder- yo-yo

4. Run around with balls)5. Pass rings with a partner (every third or every other throw)6. Develop your own specialty trick with juggling

Level 5.1. Juggle for 5 minutes without dropping (not scarves)2. Pass clubs with partner (others)3. Stealing with clubs4. Run around with clubs5. More advanced juggling tricks with specialty props6. Prepare and perform a three minute juggling routine, possibly

involving a range of juggling props, another person, music, a comic character, a storyline.
