As a respected and valued leader within Ohio’s vast food processing industry, or as a business directly engaged with this segment of the industry, you are cordially invited to take part in the Ohio Food Processing Forum on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Lorain County Community College, The John A. Spitzer Conference Center, 1005 N. Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035. The forum is hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS).

Main areas of focus include:

In early June, various stakeholders shared their insights on challenges facing the food processing industry. The forum on Sept. 28 is designed to share possible resources and present current research being facilitated as related to the concerns expressed. Top officials and scientists from the USDA-ARS and NIST, as well as private industry experts will be in attendance to lead the forum.

Ohio is the first state in the nation to hold a program such as this for the food processing industry, and CIFT is also pleased to be joined by representatives from the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST-MEP) - the premier technical organization in the manufacturing field.
