Pastor’s Point:
Be Alive in Worship:
Spirits are up, activity is improving, and a new sense of life has sprung forth in this
springtime. It is a great time to be alive. The next few months will provide outstanding
opportunities to enjoy the best life offers. It is getting more beautiful with the flowers
blooming and soon the sniffles from the pollen in the air will cease and be replaced with
laughter and a best sense of tiredness in the evening.
It is the time when MOPC will host the National Day of Prayer (May 5), we will celebrate
graduations, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and Father’s Day in June. It sounds like a lot
of life.
One thing that will add great meaning to these days is to remain faithful in our regular
and continual worship of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ. There are two things to
keep in mind regarding ‘worship’ during these busy days. The first is that “the evil one”
seeks to influence us to worship him by giving all our loyalties to his deceptions about
his how life is found. The way of the “evil one” ultimately causes one to disconnect from
our Creator and lose life (Matthew 4:8 – 11). The second thing comes from John 4:23, 24
where Jesus says “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will
worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His wor-
shippers.” Did you get that? The Father seeks worshippers. This is you and me. Our
Heavenly Father is seeking us to honor Him with a sense the He is worth our loyalty and
willingness to be under His influence in our lives.
I like the way pastor Bob Moorehead declared his faith by the following excerpt: “I am
part of the fellowship of the unashamed . . . I am a disciple of Jesus Christ . . . . My past
is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure . . . I no longer need
preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity . . . I am a disciple
of Jesus Christ . . . I won’t give up, shut up, let up, or slow up until I’ve preached up, paid
up, prayed up, stored up, and stayed up for the cause of Jesus Christ. And when
Jesus comes to get His own, He’ll have no problem recognizing me.
See you Sunday in Worship.
Pastor Jerry

Starting in May, our children’s Sunday School will study The
Lord’s Prayer. Making an effort to bring your child (grandchild,
neighbor child, or even the child of someone you work with) will
plant the seeds that reap rewards. If we don’t make the effort to teach our children
about the Word of God, about Jesus; we can be sure the world will teach them
otherwise. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when they are old, they will
not depart from it. Prov. 22:6

Supporting the EMA
really helps The 9th & 10th of April
everyone was asked to eat at
the Trenton Skyline. The EMA
received a percentage of the
sales to help the Back-pack
Program. Skyline was busier
than ever those two days and
guess what? YOU, the folks
from Mt. Olivet showed up and
made a difference. Thank you
all.
