Each of the readings includes a blessing and a sharing of food. They remind us of the central place of meals in our lives. Each meal brings to mind other meals: the sharing of cookies and milk, pizza and beer, loaves and fishes, bread and wine. When we prepare a meal for our family, our friends, even strangers, we always put some- thing of ourselves into the preparation and the meal itself. The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ reminds us of what God put into the preparation for this meal that we celebrate today. We share this sacred meal and are transformed as we remember the death of Jesus and the sacrifice that nurtures our faith, sustains our lives, and supports our work. Copyright © J. S. Wedding Anniversary

Page 3: Church of Our Lady of Angelsourladyofangelsparish.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/80/2019/06/june… · Thursday will be the feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help and Friday will be

Dear Parishioners,

Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. (Corpus Christi) I thank all

those who will partake in the procession after the 12:00pm mass.

Thursday will be the feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help and Friday will be the Solemnity of the

Sacred Heart of Jesus. Devotion to Mary always leads us to a deeper love of Her Son.

This year, we will not have a different Sunday Mass schedule in the summer since we already have

three masses.

However, there will be a change in the daily mass schedule. We will suspend the 6:45am mass

beginning Monday, July1st, and will resume on Monday, September 9th.

The two daily masses from July 1st through September 6th will be 8:30am and 11:45am.

Almost all who go to work after the 6:45am mass follow a school schedule and the rest are retired

with the exception of one person. Some of the regulars at the 11:45am told me that it was too hot/difficult for

them to walk to St. Anselm for the 11:00am, so we’ll try this schedule. As always, I appreciate your under-

standing.

In your name, I extend our congratulations to Father Espinal as he observes the fifth anniversary of

his ordination on this coming Friday, June 28th and, also, congratulations to Soraida Puente who began

serving as our Minister to the Spanish speaking parishioners, five years ago on July 1st. We are blessed to

have them both.

Let’s pray for each other,

Msgr. Kevin B. Noone
