MY EXPERIENCE
With VCCAPS
November
I started working with VCCAPS in November. I was a little nervous at first.
I couldn’t believe I finally got a job that I thought suited me.
I met Donna, Annette, Pauline, and Corrina.
These ladies were so nice. I felt welcomed.
I started my job off with a tutorial guide for using WebEx.
WebEx is an online meeting software. A program very useful for businesses who travel long distances for meetings.
Working with Video
Working with a video camera was probably my favourite part of the VCCAPS experience.
I made my first video with the camera. It was a blast.
I interviewed Leona, Lee, and Derrick.
I even helped them use WebEx.
Working with the Snowball Mic
The snowball Mic is a professionally made microphone for good quality audio.
I`ve used this for my videos and also for some of my tutorials.
The snowball mic drowns out unnecessary noises and makes your voice crisp and clear.
My Tutorial Guides
I have been working on tutorial guides for a while.
I made quite a few of them.
My guides are step by step processes so it does not get confusing when reading them.
I also add audio clips into some of my tutorials.
This helps as well because hearing someone`s voice explain something may be easier than reading it to yourself.
I hope that in the future these tutorials with help someone in need.
WebEx Meeting Software
WebEx meeting software allows you to work from the comfort of your own home.
Instead of travelling long distances, especially during winter, you can set up WebEx and discuss whatever is needed in your meeting.
WebEx also includes features for you to show your work to others in the meeting.
Its almost like being all together at a meeting anyway.
Video Camera Fun
I worked with the video camera from start to finish.
I enjoyed everything about it. It didn’t take long to get used to it.
I did quite a few videos on Ingonish and its surroundings.
I also made a video on the activities in the winter, which included Skiing, Sliding, and Skating.
Using Audacity
I used audacity for a few different tutorial guides.
It helped to explain my guide in more detail.
Some people find it easier to hear instructions than to read them.
Camtasia
Camtasia is a program used mostly for explaining and giving instructions in video form.
I really liked the program because you could record everything you do on your computer and go back and watch it again.
This is an excellent way to make a tutorial guide.
A Special Thanks
To the girls of VCCAPS. Donna, Annette, Julia, and Pauline!
I was so lucky to have found a job that was so awesome and to work with people like you!
You guys have made this experience worth while. I experienced a lot of new things and found I was
good at what I was doing. I hope in the future I can get a job with a similar
background and maybe we can even work together again someday!
