Brochure
Description: This is a brochure to help those on campus who strugglewith mental health. This offers advice and support for those who
wants more information on these matters.
Program: I used photoshop to create my logo and InDesign to create
everything else.
Date Completed: Saturday, March 26, 2016
Course: COMM 130
Objectives: Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.
Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure.
Process: I started out by finding a background image I liked from a
website. I created the logo on the back in Photoshop. I searched and
selected a motivational quote. I then selected in background color
and font color. I then wrote the descriptions of what this organiza-
tion was about in the paragraph sections. I added images last.

Description: A year ago one of my friends, Maddy, died. She was only 20
and was just out enjoying a pretty bike ride in Walla Walla, WA, when
we was hit by a car and pronounced dead several hours later. I made
this because she was a huge spiritual inspiration to me, and she loved
God fiercely. I gave it to her mom on the one-year anniversary.
Program: I used photoshop for this assignment.
Date Completed: February 13, 2016
Course: COMM 130
Objectives: Learn to blend two or more images together gradually, us-
ing masks. Demonstrate more advanced Photoshop skills for layout with
multiple elements. Use a mask to apply a filter to one part of the image.
Apply typography principles (titles, quotes, events or scriptures…your
choice)
Process: I used alot of masks. I got this original pictures from her face-
book, as well as the quote. I used about 5 different masks throughout
this project I believe. I chose a font that I thought looked dainty and
beautiful because that reflected maddy

Create a full-bleed design. Choose a color scheme and typeface(s) that
work for your message and audience. Learn to use only Word design fea-
tures without using any Adobe programs, including Photoshop.
Process: I went to a store and bought a wedding magazine. I selected a
picture I felt would be appropriate for a primarily lds town, and scanned
it into my computer. I placed the picture into the word document, selected
my color scheme and chose a font that I believed was wedding-appropri-
ate.

Description: I choose to create a logo for a bakery that would be spelled, “Doo-nuts” instead of doughnuts because the two donuts looked like “o’s”. This was a f
logo to create.
Program: Illustrator
Date Completed: February 19, 2016
Course: comm 130
Objectives: Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or
personal image that will appeal to the audience. Do not imitate existing logos ouse previous designs.Market research: gather opinions from at least ten people
about which logo appeals most to them.Use only the Illustrator tools to create
and draw your logos. (No Illustrator pre-fabricated flares, symbols, etc.. No pho
tos or live-tracing. You may use an image or drawing as a guide to trace it with
the pen/pencil, but delete the image before submitting.)Refine one logo with varia
tions for color
Process: I used illustrator for this. I made one of the donuts and than just copi
and pasted the other one so I wouldn’t have to worry about sizing and the spri
kles being different. For the rest, I just used various tools to create the smile and
the tongue.

the long side is 300 – 500 pixels. Write content to describe the process of
creating your logo and how it appeals to a target audience. Acquire a
working knowledge of HTML. Identify hex colors to match logo, using
Photoshop color picker. Open the HTML page in a web browser and cap-

Description: This semester I have been working on taking pictures and
editing them. Although I can use photoshop, I prefer to use Lightroom.
These are a selection of some of my favorite pictures I have taken or ed-
ited this semester.
Program: Lightroom
Date Completed: January-March of 2016
Objectives: When taking these pictures, I just wanted to gain more expe-
rience. I used my boyfriends family for some family pictures and a friend
who was going on her mission for the other. I really am happy with the
skills I feel I acquired while editing these photos, mainly when it came
to lighting and correcting acne and whitening teeth.
Process: I used all of the basic lighting edits as well as shadows, high-
lights, saturation, and contrast. I also used the blemish corrector and
teeth whitening as well as face brightener.

in a half hour. it is an add for ford. I was surprisingly happy
with how it turned out given the little time I had.

Objectives: I was instructed to make an ad for ford. I was to
find an image of a car, include text that was given to me, and
add the ford logo.

lected the one I liked the most. then, I found the ford logo and
placed in on the car picture, making sure to remove the orig-
inal white background so only the logo was showing. I than
found the font ford uses, and downloaded it. I than typed the
required text, and saved my file as a jpeg.

added all of the text boxes and made them somewhat trans-
