NEW YORK Feb. 16, 2010 - Choice Logistics, the global specialist in outsourcedmission-critical service parts logistics services, has announced Dubai as its newestregional hub. It will serve as a primary gateway for the Middle East, providing moreefficient access for service parts at a lower cost. The market was previously utilized forforward stocking only, and has transitioned into a more strategic role as client needs
have evolved.
Choice will be able to act as Importer of Record (IOR) on behalf of clients shipping toand from the hub, to coordinate fulfillment and shipment of high-tech spares. The siteallows parts to be shipped into surrounding countries, such as Saudi Arabia, in just twodays, as opposed to 25 when previously shipped from Europe.
The Middle East can be a challenging and expensive operating environment from alogistical standpoint, said Luisella Basso, senior Manager for Global Trade Complianceat Choice. The Dubai location provides a more efficient entry point to manage anddistribute mission-critical service parts throughout the region. Choice is committed to
identifying proactive solutions that help improve our clients ability to better serve theircustomers. This move is in direct response to their pressing needs for more efficiencyand reduced costs.
One of seven United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubais business-friendly atmosphere helpsbypass trade and compliance issues for regional commerce. This stems from Dubaismembership in the Gulf Corporation Council, which has established trade agreementsamong its membership including Bahrain, Kuwait, Quatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and therest of the UAE (Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah andFujairah).
Choice is already managing service parts for clients from its Dubai operation withpositive results, and tangible economic impact. In the future, Choice plans to exploreadditional growth in the Middle East to help clients further expand market share andbusiness opportunities in the region.
