About CSE Department
The Department of CSE offers B.Tech and M.Tech course in Computer Science and
Engineering from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, (formerly Uttar Pradesh
Technical University / Gautam Buddh Technical University) Lucknow. Computer Science
and Engineering aims to produce competent software professionals who contribute to
maintain our country’s elite position on the globe. To achieve the same, the department
provides exposure to emerging technologies as well as futuristic technologies. The quality
policy of department is to ensure global standards of excellence in our endeavours and to
remain accountable through processes of self evaluation and continuous improvement.

The Department aims to produce competent professional with strong technical, research and
managerial skills in addition to ethical values.
Mission of Department
M1. Developing strong mathematical & computing fundamentals among students that form
the baseline for building IT solutions.
M2. Provide quality education to produce the competent engineers with technical and
managerial skills to fulfill the present societal requirements.
M3. Involve in research based projects/activities in the emerging areas of computer science
and information technology.
M4. Inculcating professional ethics to serve the interests of the society and nation.
Program Education Objective
The Computer Science and Engineering Program Educational Objectives prepare students to:
PEO1: Understand the appropriate engineering techniques for demonstration of software and
hardware, analytical/problem solving skills, creative thinking and strong research orientation.
PEO2: Develop the ability to understand the core computer science subjects and its
applications, so that they will be easily applied in the practices of real world.
PEO3: Build the aptitude in the students to enhance the managerial skills that will inculcate
moral values, team-spirit, leadership quality and social responsibilities.
PEO4: Provide an industry interaction to learn the emerging technology’s theory and
practices.
PEO5: Develop the understanding of the students in the multidisciplinary subjects like
mathematics, economics, psychology and management etc.

Workshop on IT Security and Ethical Hacking
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has successfully organized workshop on
IT Security and Ethical Hacking in collaboration with Cetpa Infotech Pvt Ltd on 2nd
September 2014. Resource persons are Mr. Sonu Gurjar and Mr. Shivank Sharma. Workshop
started with introduction of Hacking, Types of Hackers and their methodology of Hacking.
Briefed about Foot printing, port scanning, social engineering, password attacks. Students are
made aware of tools like KAALI LINUX and working on it. Implementation of adding user
and changing current password in Linux without authorization, creation of virus program to
shut down the system, Hacking windows with virus was demonstrated practically .Smart
technique of searching, searching a specific file, searching a confidential file in web
,Hacking face book accounts with socialhacks.net, about the key loggers, pinging a site and
obtaining IP address and tracing the server, tracing IP address using nmap are explained to
students. Students are made aware of various job opportunities in the field of Ethical Hacking
.In addition to that students are motivated by describing about their scholarship in the form
funding student’s project.
National Seminar
One day National Seminar on ” Emerging Trends of Digital Marketing and Social Media on
Web” was successfully organized by department of Computer Science and Engineering of
CET-IILM-AHL, Greater NOIDA dated 10th
October, 2014.
Workshop on Dreamweaver
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has conducted workshop on Dreamweaver
dated 20th
February, 2015 .The session started with briefing about HTML, to introduce the
novice students about scripting languages. Then session continued with the detailed
description of Dreamweaver rich set of features. Hands on practice was provided on:
a WYSIWYG editor, integration of HTML, CSS, JSP, XML, PHP, Java Script into it, how to
work with various templates
PDP- Quantitative Aptitude
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has successfully organized Personality
Development Program on Quantitative Aptitude on 13th
Feb'2015. Mr. Anand Kumar, the
director of TIMES institute was the eminent speaker. He took the topic of percentages and
explained how complex problems and calculations can be easily solved by learning few
numbers. The session covered diverse problems from Speed and Distance, Work related
problems, Area of figures and Profit-Loss. He also explained to extend the solution for two
variables to three variables and many more.
Guest Lecture on Key skills to crack interview
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organised HR lecture dated 16th
April
2015 by Ms. Mou Sen, HR manager from Charter Global Inc. The main objective of the
session is how to outperform in the HR round of interviews by freshers. She guided students
regarding communication skills, personality development skills, significance of certifications,
about writing CV, and negotiation in package. She briefed about work culture of IT
companies and significance of freelancing in India and abroad.
Guest Lecture on Digital Logic Design
An Expert Lecture by Mr. Naveed Zafar Rizvi, Professor, School of ICT, Gautam Buddha
University, UP on “Digital Logic Design” was delivered on August 29th, 2014 for the
students of B.TECH (CSE) IInd, IIIrd semester.
Lecture session with overview of Digital Logic Design (DLD) and his emphasis was more on
basics and applications area of digital logic’s in digital and electronic devices. The session
was made interactive by thought provoking questions posed by Mr. Rizvi to the students and
the convincing answers were given by the student audience.
Workshop on Android
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has successfully organized workshop on
Android Technologies in collaboration with PCTI dated 10th September 2014. Workshop
started with introduction of Ms.Kumkum Tiwari , Sr.Manager,PCTI and 2 other trainers
Ms.Nita, Ms.Sneha, followed by introduction of students. Then JAVA concepts are discussed
in detail with students. Followed by good explanation of working environment of Android,
development of application using the same has been shown experimentally. The application
is migrated to students’ smart mobiles. Consequently students experienced working and
deployment of Android Apps to smart phones. Further necessary training to proficient in this
technology is briefed. The session was concluded with scope of this technology followed by
questionnaire and vote of thanks to resource persons.
Workshop on Linux
Computer Science and Engineering Department of College of Engineering and Technology
has successfully organized a workshop on “RedHat Linux” in collaboration with DUCAT,
Greater NOIDA dated 1st April, 2014.
The workshop started with introduction of the trainer Mr. Rajeev Kumar as Cisco Certified
Network professional (CCNP) having 7yeras of experience at various cadres in industry as
well as in training.

Guest Lecture on Software Testing
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has successfully organized Alma connect
session on 8th
September 2014, by Mr. Abhishek yadav, Senior Quality Analyst, Aptara Inc.
He is alumni of CET 2005-09 batch. The session started with introduction of each student to
know their field of interest.
The speaker made aware about various career opportunities in their field of interest. As part
of their discussion moved ahead towards TESTING. Terminology of testing, types of testing
and various tools like QTP, SELENIUM, WATIR, SAHI etc and significance of these tools
are explained to students. Guest lecture session conclude with description of various IT
certification courses like ISTQB, CSTE etc.
Industrial Visit- HCL Technologies
An industrial visit cum Training session was organized for computer science students to
HCL technologies, Noida on 18 Oct 2014.This Company provides professional trainings
through the centers all over India in AVR raspberry pi and embedded systems and
Networking.
The students got a hands on experience on Interfacing using RFID. They were given in depth
knowledge about Embedded system design using AVR Raspberry Pi. Basics of
Microcontrollers were also touched upon. The training was well organized with a 2 hour
workshop followed by an aptitude and technical round for students.
