Movement of Motor Cars.-In compliance with Motor Car Rules,permission of Yardmaster is not required for main track movementthlough or within yard limits as provided by Rule 4(c), exceptwhere otherwise provided for in TTSI. Motor Car operators willprotect against yard engines within yard limits.

High Voltage Wires.-ln the event wires carrying high voltage orpower lines in connection with Automatic Block Systems arebroken, swinging, or on the ground, employes will immediatelynotify the Train Dispatcher. If wires are in position to interfere withtraffic or are liable to cause injury to persons, arrangements must bemade to place watchmen at the point until relief can be obtained.

Personal Injury Reports.-Whenever employes are injured, theofficer or employe in charge will act as follows:

(l) Non-Train Accidenr. -Whenever employes are injured in anon-train accident, equipment or machinery involved mustbe given an immediate inspection by officer or employe incharge to ascertain condition.

(2) Train Accidents.-In cases of injuries to employes in train orengine service accidents, where the condition or operation ofengines andlor cars is or may be involved, anlmmediateinspection must be made of equipment, including, wherenecessary, a coupling and uncoupling test, or brake test: alsoan inspection of the track and roadbed. If not practical tomake inspections and tests of equipment at point ofaccident, same should be made at the next available point.Inspection must be made by two qualified persons unlessotherwise directed. Inspectors must make a separate reportof inspection to their superior officer.

(3) If any employe furnished to a person, other than an officialof the Railway Company, written statement concerning anaccident, or injury, employe shall promptly furnish an exactcopy of statement to his immediate superior.

(4) In all highway crossing accidents the Conductor of the traininvolved will make report on Form CJ-8 to the Superinten-dent. He should include, in space Z, under "REMARKS" thenames and addresses of all outside witnesses at the scene,together with the license numbers of all automobiles thatwere stopped at the crossing at time of accident.

(5) In the event a passenger train is involved in an accident andaccident is of such a nature that passengers might possiblyhave been subjected to injury, the Conductor in charge oftrain will have such passengers complete and sign FormCJ-99, regardless of whether or not such passengers claim tohave been injured, as provided for in printed instructionsaccompanying Form CJ-99. (See General Rule M-2 Book ofRules.)

(6) When physically able to do so, an employe sustaining injury,will report it to the Supervisor before leaving companypremises. The Supervisor must arrange prompt first aid andwhen necessary, place the employe under the care of . acompany surgeon as soon as possible. Injuries must bereported promptly on the prescribed forms, however minorthey may appear.

information as possible concerning the derailed cars (suchcars turned over, tracks blocked, tank cars punctured,

On Western Maryland trains, helper must be cut in ahead ofcaboose. When helper engine exceeds 3500 horsepower, B&O TrainCrew will ride helper engine between Cheat River and Greene Jct.

Trains must be brought to Stop before helper Engine isdetached.

Cm-30-standard Air Pressure.Trains descending the following grades will carry 90 lbs. Brake

Pipe as Standard Air Pressure:

Exception.-Empty Trains descending the above listed gradeswill carry the Prescribed Standard Pressure of 80lbs. Brake Pipe.

lVhen Engineers deem additional retainers necessary, they willnotify trainmen who will comply with their request.

Trains will stop to adjust retainers. When retainers are used theymust be turned Pp consecutively from engine rearwards. Turning upretainers on the front and rear portion of a train allowing the middlbcars to run loose is prohibited.

T-501.-Additional Instructions Automatic Block Signal Rules.Protection Single Budd Car Unit.-When single Budd Car Unit is

operated where Rules 501 to 519, inc., are in effect, when car isstopped, it shall immediately be moved forward ten (10) feet andsecond stop made without the use of sand before passengers arepermitted to entrain or detrain, except at Pittsburgh station. Ifemergency stop is made and car cannot be moved ahead imme-diately Flagman must go back a sufficient distance to stop a trainmoving at normal speed.

MK Tower.-Westward trains receiving stop indication on con-trolled absolute signal at Center Street, Versailles, will call Operatorat MK Tower. Eastward trains on No. 1 track will not foul crossoverswitches at MK Tower without hand signal from Operator.

INSTRUCTIONS COVERING MEDICAL SERVICES

l. Employes seriously injured on duty or passengers, whose injuriesrequire medical or surgical aid, should be promptly taken to thenearest listed Company's Surgeon or hospital emergency room,except in extreme emergency, when they should be transportedto the closest medical facility.Workers with minor injuries sustained on duty should be treatedat the listed First Aid Clinics. Where these services are not readilyavailable, such cases should be referred to the nearest listedCompany's Surgeon or hospital emergency room.

2. Depending on severity of injury, the officer in charge will usediscretion as to proper conveyance for removal of injurede_mployes. Municipal or private ambulances, taxicabs, personal orCompany's vehicles may be used for this purpose, and theCompany may be billed for the seryice.

3. When a passenger becomes ill on a train and requests medicalattention, any local physician (Company's Surgeon or otherwise)may be called. If the passenger cannot or will not pay physiciancalled, we shall pay for the first call, but both the patient and thephysician should be told that all subsequent treatment shall be atthe patient's expense.

Notice of disablement or death of a Relief Department membershould be reported promptly.
