The highly deuterated title compound is prepared by reaction of DIO 3 and CaCO 3 in a mixture of 90 mol% D 2 O and 10 mol% H 2 O. Ca(IO 3 ) 2 ·D 2 O crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /c (Z = 4) and is isostructural with Ca(BrO 3 ) 2 ·H 2 O. The total refined H content (9 mol%) is approximately equal to that used in the experimental preparation. Deviation from random distribution of the H atoms is established. — (PETER, S.; SUCHANEK, E.; ROISNEL, T.; LUTZ, H. D.; Acta Crystallogr., Sect. C: Cryst. Struct. 45 - 007Neutron Powder Diffraction Study on Highly DeuteratedCa(IO3)2·D2O. — The highly deuterated title compound is preparedby reaction of DIO3 and CaCO3 in a mixture of 90 mol% D2O and 10 mol%H2O. Ca(IO3)2·D2O crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c (Z = 4)and is isostructural with Ca(BrO3)2·H2O. The total refined H content (9 mol%)is approximately equal to that used in the experimental preparation. Deviationfrom random distribution of the H atoms is established. — (PETER, S.;SUCHANEK, E.; ROISNEL, T.; LUTZ, H. D.; Acta Crystallogr., Sect. C:Cryst. Struct.
