    Checkbox in Report Studio

A prompt page with two check box. Each check box will be associated with a section in Report page and based upon

which checkbox is selected it will show the section in Report page

    1. Create a value prompt with your two values, and change the format to show as a checkbox, call it

"promptSection", set the display properties as your labels, and the values as 1 and 2, or whatever you want

    2. Create a string variable the variable expression will be something like PromptValue("promptSection") - set

the string values to the values you chose in 1.

    3. Remove your original list report from the layout - hint select the section report and use "Ctrl X" to cut the

report so the query is left behind but the report layout is removed

    4. Take your original query and use it to create 2 separate tabular queries, filter each query by the section

    you want it to contain.

    5. Use the two new queries to create separate lists reports, you can section them on your section title so it

looks the same as before - you may also need to set the size of the columns so the two reports line up

correctly and look like a single report!

    6. Add a conditional block to your report layout, use the string variable from 2 to set the value for the

    condition

    7. Drag each of your different lists (and sections if you used them) to each of their corresponding condition in

the block - you can ignore the "(Other)"condition as this will never be used

Run your report and select one of the prompts, re-run and choose the other prompt you, if you created the

report correctly you should see the corresponding section when you select the prompt value

You did not specify in your original email that you needed to autosubmit the prompt, but that is all you need to change

    in the instructions.
