Garage SpecificationsThe Clipper RangeWall ConstructionWalls are built with 75mm x 50mm (3” x 2”) timber framing, spaced at 600mm (2’) centres, diagonally braced at corner sections, where necessary.

Wall CladdingSelected high-quality Shiplap 16mm x 150mm (5⁄8” x 6”), pressure treated to ensure a long maintenance- free life. All boarding is fixed with rust-resisting nails. Weatherboard is available as an option.

Wall LiningAn eco-breather membrane to meet the requirements of BS 4016 Type 2, is placed between the studwork and exterior cladding of all wall panels and doors. Various internal wall linings and insulation are available on request.

Roof ConstructionPurlins are 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”) held in place by joist holders on prefabricated trusses, covered with 11mm OS Board and black Onduline roof sheeting or 38kg green mineral felt. Further options include coloured Onduline, Onduvilla tiles or felt tiles.

Double DoorsDouble doors are framed, ledged and braced, faced with Shiplap. Doors are hung on 450mm adjustable hook and band hinges. Double doors are 2.1m wide x 2.082m high (7’ x 6’ 10”), as standard.

Personal DoorsAre not included as standard but can be fitted as an optional extra.

WindowsAre not included as standard. An extensive range of single or double glazed windows are available.

HeightTo eaves 2235mm (7’ 4”) when on a single course of brickwork. Apex height will vary depending upon the width of the building; please enquire.

GutteringIs not fitted as standard but can be included as an optional extra.

This door is hung in a pressure treated door frame with cill. Inward or outward opening doors are available.

WindowsAre not included as standard. An extensive range of single or double glazed windows are available.

The pitch of the trusses can be increased up to 35° to accommodate slate or clay tiles.

Soffits and FasciaAre fitted as standard and the soffits and fascias are 150mm x 25mm (6” x 1”) and pressure treated.

Double DoorsDouble doors are framed, morticed, ledged and braced, rebated and infilled with 19mm x 125mm (3⁄4” x 5”) T.G.V. Doors are hung in a pressure treated, heavy-duty frame with 600mm (24”) adjustable hook and band hinges. Doors secured with rimlock and pull handle, lockable from inside and out. Doors are 2286mm wide x 2235mm high (7’ 6” x 7’ 4”) and side hinged, as standard. Larger double doors are available as well as a range of canopied up & over doors and sliding doors.

Personal DoorAs standard your garage will include a single 915mm x 1981mm (3' x 6’ 6”) personal door framed, morticed, ledged and braced, rebated and infilled with 19mm x 125mm (3⁄4” x 5”) T.G.V. and fitted with a five levered morticed door lock. Wall LiningA traditional wall eco-breather membrane made to meet the requirements of BS 4016 Type 2 is placed between the studwork and exterior cladding in all panels and doors. Various wall linings and insulation are available on request.

Roof ConstructionPurlins are 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”) held in place by joist holders on prefabricated trusses, boarded with 11mm OS Board and black Onduline roof sheeting. Coloured Onduline, 38kg green mineral felt, Onduvilla tiles or felt tiles are available as an alternative.

DoorsA single 838mm (2’ 9”) wide x 2082mm (6’ 10”) high framed, ledged and braced door faced with shiplap, secured with 450mm (18") T hinges and a pad bolt. Larger single or double doors are available.

WindowsOne 980mm x 662mm (39” x 26”) single glazed window (1 x opening, 1 x fixed pane) or 1 x clear roof sheet is included in buildings up to and including 3.6m (12’) in length. Two windows are fitted as standard in longer Workshops. Alternative single glazed or double glazed windows are available.

HeightTo eaves 2235mm (7’ 4”) when on a single course of brickwork. Apex heights will vary depending upon the width of the building, please enquire.

GutteringBlack 100mm (4”) half-round guttering and downpipes are fitted to both sides of the building.

Barge BoardsAll in pressure treated, prepared timber, fixed with rust-resisting nails. No overhangs to gable ends.

FlooringFloors are constructed using 75mm x 50mm (3” x 2”) framing, spaced at 300mm (12”) centres and covered with 18mm OS Board.

Timber TreatmentAll timber is pressure treated (excluding roof purlins), adding to the longevity of your building.

For any Garage or Carriage House with an eaves height of 2.7m and over, (not including the height of the roof) full scaffolding will be required.

As standard the pitch of the roof would be 22.5° but this may vary slightly depending on the width of your building. Clay tiles are available as an alternative but the pitch required to take clay tiles will be much steeper.

DoorsThe Chester range of Workshop will include a single 915mm x 1981mm joinery grade personal door VAC VAC treated, framed, ledged and braced, with top two thirds of door incorporating a 20mm double glazed casement window, bottom on third will be rebated and infilled with T.G.V. Door secured with a five levered mortice lock and hung on butt hinges.

WindowsOne 980mm x 1050mm joinery grade 14mm double glazed window, pressure treated; to include one fixed and one opening pane. A range of alternative sized windows are available as an option.

HeightTo eaves 2248mm (7’ 5”) including depth of timber floor. Apex height will vary depending on the width of the building.

FloorsThe floor is constructed using 75mm x 50mm (3” x 2”) pressure treated frame, spaced at 300mm (12”) centres and covered with 18mm Ply.

Timber TreatmentAll timber is pressure treated including the windows and the door is VAC VAC treated, but excluding the rafters. We now manufacture our own pressure treated joinery grade doors and windows in our on-site joinery Workshop. These new specifications are outlined above.
