The Story: “The time – and the buyer made this special. The sellers bought in 1988, suffered little damage from Hurricane Andrew but wanted a lifestyle change. My colleague, Pat Parker, had the buyer - the Government of France – and their representative had looked for two years with Pat. The contract had a promise of the purchase price by cashier’s check at closing. The sellers owned Hermes in Bal Harbor and chose to take the chance. The day of closing, we waited for the representative to appear with the proceeds. He was late and we were nervous, but he finally arrived and and we closed.
