Subsidiary Ledgers:
A ledger that is summarized in a single general ledger account
Accounts Payable Ledger:
A subsidiary ledger containing only accounts for vendors from who you purchase merchandise from
Accounts Receivable Ledger:
Ledger for charge customers
Controlling Account
A subsidiary ledger that summarizes all accounts in subsidiary ledgers. The balance will equal the total of all account balances.
Accounts Payable Ledger and General Ledger Controlling Account
Vendor Number
3 Digits
1st Number is the Division number (Assets, Liabilities, and Owners Equity)
2nd and 3rd is the location in subsidiary ledger assigned by 10’s
For Example: 210
2 Means Liabilities
10 Means 1st Liability on the list in Alphabetical Order

2- Liabilities
3- Owners Equity
The total amount owed to all vendors is summarized in a single general ledger account, Accounts Payable
