Project Concept

Eunuch’s are called ‘khuaja Saras’ in urdu language.

This proposal is designed to initiate a

rehabilitation center for young underprivileged

eunuch’s in Pakistan.

The core values of this project is to provide the

best of best facilities, training, luxurious

accommodation, clean, hygienic environment and

quality food to these young underprivileged

eunuchs as a gift of humanity . This is what the

project title suggests creating a Heaven on Earth.

This center will mainly focus of 5 major facet for

their growth and development.

Target GroupEvery human being on earth is born with race,

religion, color, parents, beauty, financial situation

so on and so forth.

Not everyone is blessed with all. Amongst us,

some are born disabled, some are blind, some

are genius like Einstein whereas some are

Eunuch.

Pakistan Alhamdulillah has many centers and

NGO’s for disabled children’s, for HIV, for

prostitution, for poverty, for food, for human

rights, for women rights.

Lately, I have attended a conference on

RETT Syndrome as well. But unfortunately,

no concrete work has been done for

Eunuch.

entry to schools and hospitals, and refused

properties for rent or purchase.

Discrimination follows even in death,

when many are denied formal burial rites”.

Why Rehabilitation Center ??

Bronwyn Curran, Foreign Correspondent wrote in his article that eunuchs are often shunned by their

families and forced to make a living by begging or as prostitutes. He than further added, that in

Rawalpindi, eunuchs have made their home in cramped rented rooms.

Dr. Khaki informed the supreme court of Pakistan that there are about 80,000 eunuchs in Pakistan.

Parents give their gender-confused children into the care of Gurus (leader of eunuchs) at a very

tender age. He also said to the court that they live in sizeable communities, divided into clan groups

and mostly in slums.

Shazia (eunuch) said : “The colonies can be brutal places, where young people are often beaten and

exploited”.

Do we need more reason to have a Rehabilitation Center ???

Why Eunuch ??

1st Reason : rights to be HUMANDr. khaki said to the court that Such people are even denied their right to inheritance and civil rights. They cannot

travel freely in trains, buses or use facilities available to common citizens of the country.

2nd Reason : BeggarsEunuchs typically live in the margins of society, face discrimination and earn their living in various ways, e.g., by coming

uninvited at weddings, births, new shop openings and other major family events and singing until they are paid or given

gifts to go away. The ceremony is supposed to bring good luck and fertility, while the curse of an unappeased ‘khuaja

saras’ is feared by many. Other sources of income for the ‘khuaja saras’ are begging and prostitution. The begging is

accompanied by singing and dancing.

Why Eunuch ??

3rd Reason : Sex WorkersDennis Drenner, in his article “The Hijras or Pakistan” writes that hijras (eunuch) now earn their living

as beggars, dancers and prostitute. They are often shunned by their families and forced to make a

living by begging or as prostitutes.

4th Reason : Drug Addicts

There are about 100’s of eunuch’s in drug addict hospitals. The young eunuchs living in drug

influenced surrounding adopt the same path of using drugs as their parent eunuchs and this is how

the drug addiction grows high in young eunuch, which results in diseases and other health issues.

5th Reason: Dancing & HIV

Results of Activity

Results of Street Food Activity

Before this activity, many

‘Khuaja saras’ were eating

street food and were suffering

from GIT (Gastro Intestinal

Tract). With this activity, they

realized that street food is not

only unhygienic but also

unhealthy for their health.

By the end of this street

activity, ‘Khuja saras’ have

decided to cook food at their

home.

Results of Oral HYGIENE Activity

Dr. Amir Zaheer Varsi was on

field with us, to diagnose

their oral health and invite

them to the clinic for free

clinical services. So far Dr.

Amir has treated 25 young

underprivileged eunuch’s by

spending 3 hours per week.

This on going activity requires

funding as well as

Professional doctors.

Results of On-Street Global Warming Activity Before this activity ‘khuaja

saras’ were used to burn trashes

on street for local people in

return of 20 pak rupees

With this activity they realize ,

how dangerous carbon dioxide

could be for our planet. They do

not take job of 20 rupee

anymore, but also educate

people on the same.

Similar Projects

Contech International Health Education Research Resource Institute (NHERRI) is one such institute working for

eunuchs in Pakistan. The main objectives of the NGO is to reduce the risk of HIV AIDS among MSM (Men having sex

with Men) and providing basic health education on HIV and safe sex by involving ‘Khuaja Saras’ for field work thus

providing working opportunities.

How different Our Project Is ??

The main objective of our project is to provide basic secular education, skill development, provide access to medical

diagnoses and proper medication, opportunities to participate in sports and other recreation activities to refrain

from being indulge in drug and other illegal activities and above all being accepted as part of society and Human

Beings.
