Our environmental services include:

Environmental Impact Assessments Remediation Design & Implementation Contamination Assessments Hazardous Waste Management Emergency Response Site Development Environmental Management Systems Permitting and Compliance

Environmental Health & Safety Solid Waste Management

CES uses established methodologies to conduct thorough assessments that provide accurate data. However, we also stay abreast of emerging technologies and incorporate innovative methodologies as appropriate to provide more effective and/or efficient data. Included are a few examples of the services CES provides.

Environmental Impact Assessments

Caribbean Environmental Solutions has extensive experience performing Site Environmental Impact Assessments and developing assessments tailored to meet site specific requirements. CES is thoroughly knowledgeable of the need to perform an exhaustive research of background information prior to developing a site-specific work plan. Perform reviews of topographic maps, soil surveys, geological/hydrogeological information, aerial photographs, regulatory data base information, city directories, ownership information, water management records, and previous reports in order to develop a technically sound and cost-effective assessment. Our experienced environmental professional (geologist, engineer or scientist) will perform site visits to recognize signs of past land use with potential for environmental damage. Uniform coverage of the entire site and adjacent parcels are made so that all areas of the property are viewed. Depending on the size of the parcels, site plans, aerial photographs, and/or topographic maps are used for noting specific areas of concern in the field. Photographs are always taken to provide both general overviews of the site, and of specific identified areas of concern.

CES will design/implement a field program geared toward characterizing and identifying sources of contamination; determining the horizontal and vertical extent of soil, groundwater, and surface water contamination; and understanding the soil composition, subsurface lithology, and aquifer characteristics of the site area in sufficient detail to support further remedial actions. The assessment results will be presented in a contamination assessment report (CAR) that will include assessment methodologies, results, conclusions, recommendations, and a conceptual remedial action plan (RAP) and refined remedial cost estimate.

Remediation Services

Caribbean Environmental Solutions is experienced in all aspects of site remediation, including design and implementation. CES has successfully used a variety of strategies to limit the scope of remediation at contaminated sites, including natural attenuation, technical impracticability, groundwater reclassification, environmental land use restrictions (institutional and engineering controls), and risk-based corrective action. Our remediation specialists act as liaison with planning and regulatory authorities, financially appraise remedial options, prepare remediation strategies, manage contracts and evaluate bids.

CES has the expertise to conduct large-scale, long-term remedial actions should conditions warrant. Remedial options will be tailored to not interfere with anticipated future use. Based on the intended site use, risk assessment techniques combined with engineering controls will be utilized. For example, should contaminated soils be encountered, we anticipate that excavation and off-site disposal of contaminated soil will be the prevalent remedial technique utilized. Should large areas of contaminated soil be encountered, we are prepared to conduct soil vapor extraction or other remedial techniques, as applicable. Should contaminated groundwater be encountered, Natural Attenuation, combined with short-term remedial techniques such as injection of hydrogen/oxygen release compound or limited groundwater which drawls from hot spots, would likely be the preferred remedial alternative.

Environmental Emergency ResponseCaribbean Environmental Solutions provides emergency response for weather related emergencies, release of hazardous wastes and discharge notification requirements and responses, initial remedial actions to abate imminent hazards associated with emergency response, and the preparation of an Incident/Assessment Report outlining the response activities and results associated with remediation performed at the discharge site.

Thank you for taking the time to go through our scope of services. If there are any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us.
