MATHS EXTENSION by Mrs Armstrong
We are working with
Scitech and Fluor Engi-
neering to build a Food
Sculpture made from cans
of food. Then we’re going
to donate the cans to
Foodbank. We are using a
pyramid to learn how to
calculate area, perimeter,
volume and scale models
in preparation for the
Food Sculpture
challenge.
Thursday's Maths and Engi-neering Class. Challenge: Build a structure from straws that would al-low a raw egg to be dropped from at least 2 me-tres and not break. After designing and building our own egg drop structure, we made another one from pentagons.

The 2015 Swan View Primary School volleyball team had an awesome win against St Anthony's on Friday, including a nail biting 21 to 20 win. The skills of everyone in the team really lifted over the course of the term, with many perfecting their serves from the back line. Overall, I was impressed with the level of sportsmanship and sense of team that the group displayed. Their confidence really grew and their ability to return the opposition serves saw many intense volleys.
Well done to you all! (Mrs Bev Ingham)

By way of reviewing the Jump Off on Wednesday, the Year 5/6 students contributed to a think tank using the 6 “thinking hats” of DeBono. Read and enjoy. Thank you Mr Durant, what a great deal of enthusiasm you bring to the school each year.

Farewell Mrs Hogan, our Year 1 teacher. Mrs Olga Hogan is taking her long service leave for the whole of term 3. We will all miss her and send our warmest wishes for a great holiday. Enjoy your gardening and all the time you will get to catch up on your reading. I’m sure Mrs Hartzer will look after our year 1s just as well.
