Dear Parents, Carers and Staff,
Engaging Generations Project
There is movement at the station for the word has passed around that our community generations are all together bound.
The aim of engaging generations is to develop a unique social mentorship initiative in Swan View. Through this project people of different age groups will take part in activities that enable sharing and connecting as well as mutual learning and support. The big picture aim is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to come together to build a stronger and more connected community.
In this way we aim to reduce isolation and create a sense of belonging. It is planned that there will be partnerships between the school and a broad range of stakeholders. We have had several meetings to discuss ways in which the community might be connected.
And those suggestions include: Community gardening
Listening to students reading Sharing skills such as knitting, crocheting, wood work, morning tea’s,
guest speakers and so on.
In Term 4, week 5, we plan to have an old time/ new time sing along and morning tea for older persons in our community. Mr Shoenmakers has put together a song list for the generations to enjoy.
I acknowledge the hard work of the community members who are pursuing the dream of creating a stronger community in order to support a stronger school.
Enjoy the holiday break with the children. Marg

Once again this year our school is participating in Jump Rope for Heart– a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program by the Heart Foundation.
Jump Rope for Heart is a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.
