CROOBLE CHRONICLE
New Local for North
Star!
The local community would like to congratulate Natalia Carbone on becoming an Australian citizen, at a ceremony held recently at the North Star Sporting Club after the February Council Meeting. Natalia is married to Sam Carbone and they are parents of three beautiful children. Originally from Russia, Natalia has lived in Australia since 2004, spending much of that time in Western Australia before settling with Sam and their family in the North Star Community. Natalia is very proud to become an Australian and said “I would like to thank the North Star Sportng Club and Community, along with the Gwydir Shire Council, for making this day so special”. The Carbone Family are very happy to make their home in such a warm and welcoming community.
March/April 2016 Hello All, Well, once again there is plenty happening around God’s Own Country (although some rain wouldn’t go astray, big fella, and maybe a break from the slow cooker). A big congrats and welcome to our newest citizen, Natalia Carbone and her lovely family, hope to catch up with them at some of the many events happening around the district. Not to be missed: the Croppa Crows Rugby Day, and the ANZAC day Service, this year hosted by Yallaroi community. See you there! Ed

Rules for Life
North Star Club News Hi everyone... Some busy nights at the Club the last few weekends – lovely to see.
Just on that, please remember that if you are having a meeting of any of the committees etc, can you please make sure you ring the Club or text Anita or Ed and let them know especially if you’re
going to be staying on for dinner. Will just ensure that you get served quicker!!
We had the Shire Council meeting recently at the Club with a lovely Citizenship Ceremony being held for Natalie Carbone afterwards – Congrats Natalie for becoming a full blown Aussie!
There was also a discussion about the Molly Makim Hall – not a lot of people there unfortunately to have their say. The gist of it is that Council has put a freeze on spending monies on the various
halls in the district for the next 12 months and if we want the Hall to continue being open & available for all who’d like to hire it, we
need to help maintain it. Hayley Crichlow is trying to get the ball rolling and is forming an active committee. Hayley’s email address is [email protected] if you’d like to get in touch with
her or require any information. On a sad note, North Star lost one of its citizens earlier this month – Kev Sutton. Our condolences to the Sutton family. I’m sure he’ll
be missed by all who knew him. Anyway, think that’s it for now... Lise
